the executive director -- director really does decide with ms. brown, and she needs to structure it the way she wants to and lead the charge. as i said, i have talked to her a bit. she is sort of on board with this vision of it, but again, we look back to the groups that did all the work that enabled us to move this forward, so information and the formative conclusions do come from capss and ne executive director does include the policy decisions that were in the report. with that, i know john is here and has some things to say as well. i will answer some questions if you have any. commissioner hechanova: do you foresee any obstacles as a result of this report to the america's cup effort, to put it in place by 2013? >> that is a great question. i had not thought about that. is there something specific? obviously, that is a lot of cortlandt, and the port has certainly some seismic issues they are dealing with and have been dealing with an need to deal with in the future, but specifically, that is a great question, and i had not thought enough about that

our president, reverend brown is unavailable tonight. ms. mendoza, congratulations on your election to office. i just want to say about your concern with the students -- for her to have a different address i think we need to understand that in the 21st century, especially for those living in challenge communities, the nuclear family model does not necessarily fit. i think the district is having a problem understanding the nature of the blended families we have in the school district these days. she stays with her grandmother because her grandfather needs for help, yet her mother is still responsible for her hand in charge. i think it is absolutely essential that we begin to understand that there is something else going on now with our families, and you are not going to see the perfect nuclear models that your rules may have been designed for. finally, let me say this. rules are important. i understand that. but if you adhere to closely to the rules, and without picking up the phone and having a parent come in and say what is going on, your r

ms. wynns? >> yes. >> the thoughts for the evening? >> thank you. since the agenda is a little bit long, i'll keep my remarks a little bit short. you might be aware that or governor-elect terry brown hosted a meeting in los angeles to talk about just how bad the deficit is in the state of california. and as you recall, just a reminder of people that before te elections people said that the deficit was somewhere between 15 to 18 billion dollars and after that election went to $25 million. now they're starting to talk about that it's more in the neighborhood of $3 1 billion. i know last year we made humongous cuts and furloughs and we've reduced the school year by four days. we still have a long ways ahead of us. i want to remind the public of that, as january rolls around it's just around the corner. we're going to need the input of our entire community to speak with our legislators because the cuts will just be tremendous in the future years. just a brief reminder. i also wanted to congratulate and i believe later on she'll be here president kim. as you recall she's no longer going to be with the school board. she's moving on to be a superviser. and we wanted to congratulate her o
