ms. campbell. the budget analyst to the rescue, again. >> good morning. we could take supervisor, president chiu's language and say something to the extent of, with respect to the recommendation, the board of supervisors will evaluate the need for additional staff, a senior personnel analyst, constraints of the budget and that requirement to the commission. supervisor campos: that sounds good. that is perfect. so we have a revised motion by supervisor farrell. can we take that motion without objection? thank you. madam clerk, please call the next item. >> we are going to item number 3. the hearing -- tabled here in number one. supervisor campos: we can table hearing never won without objection. with respect to item number two, we can repeat the motion, which is a motion to agree with the findings, and with respect to item number two, and this is something we already did as part of item number one, but if there is any member of the public who would like to provide an additional comment on item number two, which is the response from the board of supervisors

ms. campbell to come up for a clarification on the case load ratios. >> good afternoon, supervisors. i am from the budget and legislative analyst's office. i know the adult probation department raised the issue of caseload. our analysis of this city, based upon the number of probationers currently and the department, 6259. the existing probation officer gives you a ratio of 82-1. the 15 new positions, plus the expected increase in caseload from the state, would reduce that caseload overall to 73-1. it is simply the budget numbers that we were working with. they are accurate giving the information we're provided. this is based upon the department's request for 15 new deputy probation officers. we have not actually recommended approval of those 15 new positions. supervisor chu: thank you very much. to the adult probation department, would you like to respond to the budget analyst request or recommendation? if you could speak in a little bit about the proposed work duties of the position that would be potentially not approved. >> thank you very much. i really do want to thank mr. rose's

campbell. ms. miller, did you want to add anything to that? >> briefly, through the chair, the plan was that the sfpuc would approve the term sheet, and we would hear on friday any of the changes or comments that they had. since that did not occur, i want to briefly say that that may change my recommendation to you. a number of questions they had related -- i think mike did a good job of summarizing this. the related mainly to risk and what the risk was to the city, so there are some specific questions that the sfpuc is bringing back to them. hopefully, they will be able to meet in august. if that does not occur, we might want to consider meeting with them in a joint meeting in september. the only thing i have been at is if you want to fall -- hear the full presentation, mike is perfectly willing to give it to you. it could be that because the puc did not approve the term sheet, we may be continue each day until such time as they do approve it. given that, i would like to hear your comments or questions. supervisor campos: colleagues, if i may
