ms. kay granger. ms. granger: thank you. government could shut down literally in a few days. it's completely unnecessary. it would affect military readiness, border security and so many programs americans relie on. we could have passed the bipartisan continuing resolution last week but the democrats attached it to the debt limit. the democrats did this even though republicans were clear, we oppose tying these two votes together. we'll now see what the senate sends back on thursday. but it's clear the democrats must take responsibility and address the debt limit themselves with total control of the government they have the ability to do that. i hope the senate will send back a c.r. both sides can support that will not be tied to the debt limit. and i now introduce my fellow texan. >> this will open the flood gates for massive spending and tax increases on working families as the inflation continues to damage our economy. inflation is causing insurmountable supply chain problems. this administration is refusing to address congestion that's causing a nightmare for construction.
