the question will go to ms. haley. what would you do to generate revenue quickly? >> it ii not about generating revenue. it is not about what you spend but how you spend. i can tell you we have to stretch dollars. we have to make sure we see this as the opportunity it is. first i am going to audit my agencies, go back to 0 and say, what do we have to have. i am going to propose a budget so we're not just handling this year but we are thinking about your three and year five and here 7. it is time to look at state government as a business plan and start understanding everything we do affects everything else. we have to make good decisions. this is a good opportunity to learn lessons, to prioritize spending, and to make sure we are covering our services -- our core services. >> despite the current budget crisis, you do not believe there is any need to generate new revenue? >> i thing we need to clean up our spending. we had the most vetoes sustained in history yesterday when we spend 20 hours on the house floor. 51 out of 170 were sustained. it was incredible, and tha

. >> ms. haley did think questions about your personal life would respect -- affect your ability to raise jobs? >> not at all, because they are not true. it's funny how there were no questions until two weeks prior to the election and i was a double digit leader in the polls. everything i had done in the general assembly has been pushed for accountability, bring out the truth, whether through term limits are getting legislators to disclose their incomes were showing spending on one, that is very important. i will tell you that my husband and i had been faithful for 13 years. i think it is sad that south carolina politics is at its worst. i was called by gov. mitt romney and sarah palin, and they said that this is what happens when you start to lead. it will not get any better for you just fight your way through. i am proud to say that the phone has not stopped running out of positive calls. everyone had been incredibly supportive. i will lead the way i alt -- i always have led. i will work for the p

ms. hunt, the republicans in south carolina are breaking ranks with nikki haley, even though she came in ahead of her opponent. >> they are concerned that she will follow in the footsteps of the current governor mark sanford. it is not the entire establishment, but a good portion of it. in the legislature, there is concern that the governor stymied every piece of legislation down there. he does not have a good relationship with many of the members down there. he is generally considered as a stumbling block to progress. there are some people who are nervous that nikki haley, whom he mentored, would be a repeat of that. >> what are they saying about haley? >> they are referring to her as the sanford candidate. there's also the traditional message behind it. >> the former republican gov. this week endorsed haley. what impact has that had on the race? >> both were looking for the endorsement of mr. masters. he is the attorney general, the definition of south carolina establishment, as some have to find him. it makes it more certain that once the republican party chooses a nominee, everyone w
