ms. debbie hersman, chairman of the national transportation safety board. ms. rsman was named ntsb chairman in 2009, and earlier this month was sworn in this to serve -- in to serve a second two-year term. she is also serving a second five-year term as a member of the ntsb. she might best be known to us for her leadership this taking on the tough issue of pilot and controller professionalism, but in her seven years on the board, she's also been the member on the scene at 19 major air/rail/maritime and highway accident investigations including the 2006comair flight 51 91 accident in lexington, kentucky. she was a senior staff member for the u.s. senate commerce, science and transportation committee. she is a graduate of virginia tech university and george mason university. please, join me in giving a warm alpa welcome to ntsb chairman debbie hersman.
