ms. tavenner about the situation that we're seeing in the state of alaska right now with regard to enroll 0ments within the exchange. the state of alaska has opted not to have its own state exchange. they're part of the federal exchange. an organization called enroll alaska which was established to provide for outreach, education and enrollment of alaskans into the federally facilitated marketplace, i met with a representative from enroll alaska just about ten days or so ago. it was just about the 27th of october, i believe, and at that point in time was informed that there was one alaskan that had been successfully enrolled. i met with the navigators for the alaska native tribal health consortium, united way, providence hospital. they confirmed that no one has been successfully enrolled at that point in time. move it forward to yesterday, as of yesterday it has been confirmed that enroll alaska, the entity that has been set up specifically to advance enrollment within the exchanges, has been able to enroll just three individuals and has not been able to confirm that anyone else in the st

ms. tavenner, thank you very much for being here. frome more than 30 days -- one of the greatest website disasters in history. after nearly 400 million dollars healthcare.gov is synonymous with failure. the public's trust has been broken in the report i am hearing reinforces why. one in particular we have already heard discussion on -- the south carolina man, it is so painful, that i want to dedicate my time in question to try to resolve his issues. fromase starts with justin north carolina attempting on october 1 to get obamacare through the health care.gov. by halloween, just four or five days ago, he was still unable to sign up for obamacare. however, mr. hadley from north twolina immediately saw download links. an eligibility notice from mr. dougal from south carolina, including his name, address, and eligibility for subsidies. dougal ise -- mr. requesting the personal information from all of his family be removed from healthcare.gov because he cannot remove it himself because there is no delte option for consumers. of course now

ms. tavenner. we were told before the marketplace systems were allowed to operate, they had to do -- comply with all of the rigorous standards. yet at the same time, you were testifying before me, i have "washington post" story that was saying staffers were aware by late 2012 that the work of building the federal exchange was lagging. and employees weren't at meetings late last year and in january that so many things were behind schedule, there would be no time for adequate end to end testing of how the moving parts worked together. so how was it done then that in this short time frame, where the own employees are saying it couldn't be done. the ig said there were tremendous concerns about the ability to do the testing somehow the day before our committee had you before us, there was a report sending from the secretary that said, all of our marketplace systems are allowed to operate and begin serving consumers. i'm pleased to report that hub completed independent security control assessment on augu
