ms. walker, the floor is yours. >> good morning. is harleigh walker, my pronouns are she/her, and i'm 16 years old from alabama. i want to take you all -- of the transmission. i want to share what my journey is likened to clear up some of this false information that ever coming out of congress and state legislator, including the alabama state legislature. there has been so much misinformation shared around what it means to be a transgender person and what healthcare looks like for trans youth. most of what i have been hearing is inaccurate or best or just -- by qualified medical professionals. growing up, i had a great childhood. loving family and friends. i just felt like selling is different for me. between 10 and 11, i told my peers i believed i was transgender. nobody pushed me to become transgender. no one suggested, for scale or influence me to be trance, because it is not a choice. i knew that this is who i was. after i came out, my parents were doing the absolute best they could to support me, took me to our local pediatricia

ms. walker? >> yeah. so like is that whenever i was about 11 years old i was doing research on lgbtq community and a cam across the term transgender. and growing up as a kid i was new i was different and so i came to my parents with saying that i think i am transgendered. and at first we didn't really know what that meant. we weren't super edge educe issue because you know at the time it wasn't a big public issue. so whenever we went to our doctors they were all incredibly supportive. and they never were telling me what i should do. the entire first couple of visits were just listening to make a listing to my story, though i was and what i thought was best for me and what they could do to help me. it wasn't you need to start these community. what got to do all this to death by estrogen because everybody's journey is different. and they just want to do what was best for me, and they listen to me to make sure that that was what i wanted to do. >> thank you. dr. lopez, one of the things you mentioned was the

ms. smith says late friday night, her 70 plus year old father was robbed by a young couple at knifepoint about 11 p.m. in front of the clifton hall senior residence. while he was getting his walkerf his car, they said, i don't have any money. and i showed him my wallet and it was empty. he lost what little pocket money? he had his cell phone and the electronic key to his building. we both called 911 together and when we called, we were put on hold. we didn't even get the dispatcher for 17 minutes. even more unacceptable, 32 hours. and mind you, during that time i had called them back on the non-emergency line four times. she says on the last call, 911 said the officers had already been out there. that's not true. they said they came and called and they didn't. on monday. oakland mayor shengtao announced a fix thanks to better revenues than originally projected. $2.5 million over the next two years to strengthen our 911 response, we prioritize hiring, training and retaining 911 dispatch workers to improve response times and address this critical infrastructure. when you're in crisis, you deserve a swift response. i'd like to do is be able to warn people about something like this
