mt. laurel burlington county. traffic moving along at a crawl. >> the first flakes began falling this morning and the winter weather continues. here's a look at nbc10 first alert radar. >> first alert weather team tracking the snow with temperatures hovering near the freezing mark. let's get right to nbc10 first alert chief meteorologist glenn "hurricane" schwartz. >> the snow is winding down in parts of the area. the flakes are getting smaller. you can see i-95 more clearly. the snow is accumulating at the parking lots but not on i-95 itself. we do have a first alert continuing through the night. even if the snow stops, that slushy snow we may have some freezing drizzle as we go through the night. there's going to be a lot of moisture just sitting around possibly creating icy spots for early saturday. of course, the sun will take care of that very quickly, so you can just wake up later. you can see the back edge of this. this is six hours' worth. it's been moving very steadily. there's no doubt that it is over in

mt. laurel. initially we were told it was coming from another school in westhampton and there were ten students on board. but luckily, only three. you can see the windshield completely caved in right here. emergency officials have it upright and ready to tow it away within a couple minutes. but on daffodil lane at main street in lumberton is where this bus was getting set to make a left-hand turn. police tell us the driver of this car, right down here a ford fusion you can see the damage to the front end, that driver slammed into the school bus, which was although a stopping point at that point in time, causing it to turn on its side. it is unclear why this driver hit the school bus, but this driver of the ford fusion is being interviewed by police as we speak. again, only three students from the hartford school in mt. laurel suffered injuries. only one of them was taken to mt. holly hospital. and the police chief tells me those injuries were only minor, bumps and bruises. the driver on this bus

mt. laurel. gloucester should be next.n closer to burlington county, also starting to see that changeover. as we take you over to northern delaware wilmington, just starting to see a changeover from rain to snow. so here's the big picture. again, it's mainly rainfall if you're closer to the shore, atlantic city even millville headed into dover, down by cape may. and that's because our temperatures are well above freezing. but we've already fallen close to freezing closer to allentown, poconos, reading, norristown. even reports of more of a moderate snowfall and accumulating snow. so that means your roads are covered. and you want to take it easy especially in locations where we've seen snow coming down for the past couple hours. that gives you a chance to being alate there. as far as the rest of the region through the morning, it's going to take a while before we see the snow transitioning all the way to the south and southern parts of south jersey. at least through 7:00 8:00 still dealing with more of a transition period
