this is from mt. tam 4:00 mainly inland and then low to mid-50s and milder than last evening and it will be dry as will most of the overnight hours. but notice the clouds keep us up during the overnight. mid-40s to low 50s. here is a look at cold front. look at that cold arctic air coming down behind it. so it is a fast-moving system with limited moisture and arctic air behind it and about 475 miles away from us. so our storm impact scale is a one, it is light. light to moderate rain possible tomorrow with showers and even thunderstorms possible sunday and a snow level down to 2500 feet. we could see hail and graupel. tomorrow scattered light showers and best chance of anything up in mendocino and then down in through the north bay and the yellow is pockets of moderate that will develop. and then as we head into the afternoon hours, you could see starting to slide through the rest of our neighborhoods. so there could be light to moderate showers but it is moving so quickly. it is out of here by 11:00. and

you can see the really gusty conditions here a short time ago from our camera atop mt. tam. now a look at current conditions. our emeryville camera showing you the clouds. they'll open up to some showers. how much rain can we expect. the latest from drew tuma. >> live doppler 7 tracking light showers out there. first, much of the activity right now this afternoon is in the north bay from bodega bay approaching santa rosa, around cloverdale, that's where we see light showers. dubl dublin, antioch and livermore, they're approaching the cities there. the wider view will show you the showers are developing from a west to east fashion. i want to zoom in on this cluster of light showers that is approaching parts of san francisco in the east bay. we time out these drops approaching san francisco around 5:19 p.m. and holding together around 5:34. oakland, expect light showers. on the storm impact scale, tonight, a light shower. most cities, minimal. it will be breezy with a south wind. we'll time out the storm system and show you the return of sunshine and 80 degree temperatures and

a nice view from our mt. tam camera. you're looking at ocean beach and blue skies showing up. those clouds are gathering. mostly 50s from santa rosa to novato. one other live picture from our news exploratory camera, if you're stepping outside, it's comfortable. wet and windy tomorrow. a short break on saturday and a weaker system on sunday. the storm coming in for tomorrow is level 2. it's moderate in strength. rainfall about a third of an inch to an inch for most of you but you'll pick up heavier rain, 1 to 2 inches. wind gusts, up to 45 miles per hour at the higher elevations. 25 to 30 at the lower elevations. we have a wind advisory for solano county. it may take down trees and power lines so something to be aware of. you might want to secure any loose furniture that is in your backyard or out on the patio. wind will be increasing towards midnight and we'll start to see the winds picking up near the coast at 7:00 a.m. notice over 35 miles an hour at 11:00 a.m. along the coast here and gusty conditions last until the early afternoon before it starts to wind down. in terms o

passing showers and still out towards mt. tam the higher hills of the north bay as low as 2,000 feet today. good chance you'll see a mix of wet snow flakes along with the scattered showers. as the air continues to cool down, you won't see as much moisture. that cold air right out of canada dropping the snow level tonight and temperatures tomorrow morning upper 30s to low 40s and this recipe is ripe for some low snow levels dropping into tomorrow morning. some of the heavier showers, too, may briefly try to mix some sleet down closer to even sea level early in the day. highs tomorrow will be in the mid-50s. another cool day. not quite as cool as we saw today. rainfall totals from here on out not a big story. most places picking up less than a tenth of an inch of rain. out around the north bay and especially east of san jose we're likely going to see another 2 to 4 inches of snow, not rain, snow atop mt. hamilton as we head into tomorrow morning. hour by hour for the morning forecast, you can see these little pockets of downpours.
