the mta gets those confused. a color scheme permanent is something, for 30 years, the holder of the medallion could apply for if you wanted to run his own business and not have to affiliate with one of the companies he may not wish to affiliate with. it was not just a matter of right, it was a part of the concept in giving medallions to individuals rather than to companies. the request your went to the mta in february of this year and said i would like to apply for a color scheme permanent. they said, we are not issuing those at this time. the ultimate question, what is the source of this rule? in papers filed as recently, the mta cited a resolution 10-029. it deals with the medallion pilot program. that is what they were doing for the last three years. by the way, anything you have been doing up to this point, february of 2010, you are absolved. it is ok with us. it did not say, you could go on into the future and have regulations that are not written. to the contrary, the enabling legislation of the mta regulat

i want to acknowledge mike from the mta. our mta spokesperson today. i have a couple of slides on the pedestrian safety project going on. i want to acknowledge that we have done coating products by it district because it often spills and to cross-district boundaries. that is the case with these first two sites. these are actually part of the central richmond traffic calming plan. but these two are in district two. by winter 2013, mta will come to us with proposed improvements from the area's traffic calming plans city-wide, and there is a prioritized list for districts but a potential locations for this district. quickly, there is a federal grant that mta head for the elementary school in district 1. however, it includes recommended countdown signals. and last, i will ask mike to say a few words about the first traffic calming plan in his district. supervisor farrell: in terms of the winter 2013 date -- as we sit here today in april of 2012, it looks like a long way out because it is, and people have obviously submitted applications a while ago. can yo

i need to thank mta for this. we've had other projects in our city's history where the relationship with the impacted community was not as smooth. this is really to the credit of the whole mta family, working in concert with our community- based agencies, all these wonderful agencies that came together at a very early stage, identified resources that had to happen to make sure that the quality of life was going to be treated as importantly for people who are going to be displaced temporarily. we are going to find permanent homes for all of 19 households. they are in temporary places right now. we have assured them and they trust us to find them permanent homes. we're going to do that. we've gotten temporary relocation for all the businesses. that is as important as announcing that we are forging ahead with a $235 million new subway station anin chinatown. then another station at union square and another at fourth. all part of a project that will be invaluable to connecting the whole city. i am here today to not on

we worked with mta to select a new list of projects. we will be working with mta on the new list. the first lists are on your slide here. the next project is a broadway street scape and friedman project phase three. this is one of the final connections of the fall five what upgrade from broadway to grant street to batteries street. this is connecting in the middle -- a metal block of the street. this is replanting, streetscapes upgrades and pedestrians daylighting. this is supported by a prop k sales tax. the next project is a federally funded project. this project is moving forward into construction. it is currently in caltrans for review for construction application. mta anticipates beginning construction in early 2013 and completing the project by december 2013. the bottom of this blood is the 50 mile per hour/project. that is substantially completed with signs installed at approximately 180 schools throughout the city. we have included the schools that did receive those signs. the next two projects are signal projects. the first signal modification contract, this is to do simp

i have had several discussions with the mta. some years ago, and a little bit on you, the voters made sure that we did not mess around with mta's budget. at least take things out and put things in in the way it did in years past. the board has to vote up or down on the whole budget. having said that, we did talk a little bed about, you know, our general resistance to putting meters on sundays. it is $2.5 million revenue source for them. they believe that times have changed where there are a lot of tourists and visitors that come in too many of our sections throughout the city on its sundays to enjoy, of course, all the things that we have. so we believe that revenue they need to have to balance their deficits. we have like a $26 million deficit when we started going through all of these things. i will say that we also talked about this parking increase of the penalties. one of the things that they told me that a good portion, three- quarters of that increase the they are proposing in their budget on the parking tickets as exactl

do we have a representative from the mta here? i have had an experience recently. it was noted by andy that there was striping and pain and how he also sounds something about spending the money once. i was writing down alemany street where it had recently been strapped by the mta, by the paint shop. the lines on alemany street were crooked, very crooked. and they were appealing. yellow markers that were in crosswalks. white stripes for the bike lanes. i call the director of the mta. he said those are temporary stripes. they are not permanent. i thought, if there are temporary, the reflect poorly on the mta that the strikes cannot be more stable to stay in the ground. they are action and not straight. they were egregiously crooked. i cannot imagine why we would actually strike twice the same place, why would we even consider doing a temporary paint on our main thoroughfares? do you happen to know what the procedure is for striping our intersections, is that a common way that we have to go over toys to do it? it seems extra costly to do it that way. >> i understand t

what you see is the mta's share. the challenges of the fledgling fund levels, for example the funds that are 2.9 million based on the regular estimates that the state will make lower. we are recommending the program at 95% of those funds and this is a challenge. today, we have been a key part item. a recommendation of programs to the state transit assistance fund to the low commute past and to approve the priorities for the prop one fund. what i forgot to mention come out of the transit operators are able to establish their own parties for the fund is so immense and agencies can provide at those projects and then to provide oversight and monitoring them. just to remind you, the board approved or gave its concurrence with the prop one be priorities for the other regional operators which included ac transit, bart. there has been a lot of discussion on this. this is the 22 month pilot level that was approved. this is a past that is free for low income use. the program, as required, would include a fairly robust evaluati

it is with great pleasure that i speak here in support of the nomination to the sf mta. as the officers and directors of our organizations lined the south beach got clubbed and the bay area association of disabled sailors, which is a non-profit, we have collaborated on a number of projects and committees in the face of constrained resources. these products include greater community access and use access to water through a combination of south beach yacht club assets and programs, the development of management to bring and hold national and world access regatta's to san francisco bay, and various projects and events pertaining to the america's cup. heard leadership and the recruitment of still resources has brought to bear a more energetic and effective board to bear on these projects. her commitment to south beach yacht club has brought that members opposed to the family. today, the members enjoy greater involvement in the south beach shout club program and committees and more personal one-on-one relationships with the members and their board. much of this can be credite

this will allow the agency and mta to keep up with the growing demand for striping and street parking. there is a prop k request for a multi phase allocation for the 19th avenue accessible pedestrian signals. this will fund locations that are shown on page 67. these are 14 of the 18 high priority locations identified by the work at. the other four locations have already been constructed as part of another contract. traffic's to go up. and graffiti appeared this is an ongoing program. this is the sixth year that we would be funding this year the program has improved over 19,000 signs to date and the public can request these signs by calling 311 or through the mta website. this request would improve another 5100 signed upgrades. this would improve safety at 25 locations near schools and others key intersections. once they have settled on the locations. upon completion of planning, which would be at the end of june, mta would provide us with a list of locations as well as the basis for the recommendation. the next request is for the construction phase of the marina green bicycle trail pr
