city with the needs to slow down traffic and pedestrian safety is the number one priority within the mta next point had to do with the agency cooperation issues so one of the first ones we've done is to convene principle level workshops with the department of public works and with the city engineer groups and i and our staff are going through and looking for barriers the things with are sloan the schedules where outreach or funding or contracting and knocking those barriers over one-on-one we've benefited from having a coalition that pulls together the policy and direction of vision zero they're focused and very, very focused leadership at the agency level to commit to getting those projects down u done there was a reference in the report among the cultural question he another really good breakdown through public works is achieving the projects one of the champs that was raised in san francisco this is true in any city when you want to build a lot of small projects that is what vision zero is an effort we win intersection by intersection across the city it can be hard to get to work that

in mta's project delivery. >> i think it is happening.it is happening at mta and across the implementing agencies. the coordination of the department of public works is moving forward where, you know, the department heads and the senior management teams are getting together very regularly to program that out. this capital planning and funding and project delivery effort i think has deepened in the last two years in recognition that we can do better and we need to do better. this is also being informed by new tools, tools like -- you know, computer systems where everybody puts their project, puc, the utilities, bpw -- mta, they can see when projects are going forward. that tool and performance-based systems, and coronation are coming on-line as well. i see evidence of it. it is frustrating. having a laser focus on what the priorityerize have helpful. so when the time comes to put it altogether it is very clear what is expected. you know? the capital project with some -- vision zero and the tep seems to be a really strong formula to allow p

and so what i present to you is data that has been validated by both the police department and the mta. and as you can see, we have had the first three quarters of this year an over all in terms of injury collisions, and a 15 percent reduction of injury collisions, which is a significant in and of itself. >> one of the goals that the city had was to reduce the severity of the injuries sustained as a result of a traffic collision and as you can see there, we have even had the enroad theres and although we have not impacted a fatalities unfortunately. and we have impacted severe injuries to the rate of 16 percent reduction. and visible injury to the rate of 18 percent reduction, and the complaint or the pain category by 14 percent. >> i am going to end just by showing a video, this video is a training video that was a recommendation of the 2013, civil grand jury, we actually compiled this training video with the help of with the bicycle coalition and we thank them and we also congratulate them because they put out a video with the use of grant funds and more of a public service video and
