as part of this, we also worked with mta. one of the problem with the minnesota grove, it's a little overgrown, there is a retaining wall behind all of these plants. unfortunately, this retaining wall gets hit by cars and things and things like that so part of the project is constructional improvements so there is no failure. we also worked with mta, you can see that there is no parking and it used to be a two-way street to get into construction we did legislation to convert this into a one-way, just to make it safer. the grove, itself, jumps into the middle of the street. this is another angle kind of closer to 25th street. there are the whole thing which you can see is kind of that metal sheeted building on the picture. so we're standing in the driveway, the original minnesota grove, is the picture on the left and then the picture on the right was the minnesota grove extension, in advance of the project just to demo out to install additional seeding. as you can see also in the two photos, there is no additional sidewalk. yo

if you could, because, i want to say thank you so much to, puc staff, but in particular to mta and, rec park staff and tanya peterson at the zoo, for working out our last bit of problem with this, you know, whole wonderful project, and particularly to cronenberg, who i see back there and, sarah maitland, thank you, so one of the things that this project is doing is closing off the exit from the parking lot from the zoo. and as everybody heard, we're getting pandas, the zoo's, you know, visitors, have are back up to where they were pre-pandemic, which is a really great thing. but we, of course, want to set them up for success also for generations to come. and so, in working with all the pros and cons of you know, addressing that problem, i think that we explored a bunch of different things and we finally came up with an agreement, which is that, you know, we will build a new, or the zoo will build a new entrance to be flush with 47th avenue and use the existing entrance as the exit, and that you, the puc, will incorporate, the project and your pre-development. you'll do the pre and then

that is exactly what we did in partnership with mta long island railroad for the third track expansioni am susan walter i lead infrastructure business in north america. i have the privileges turn as the design manager for the expansion projects. two plus billion-dollar designec bill that was there was a partnership with the owner, long island railroad, the contractor, third track constructors included the engineer and many, many third-party stakeholders. it is the busiest commuter or railroad in north america. originally built in the 1800s it consisted of two tracks saving 50000 people. today those two tracks carry approximate 300,000 customers per day. simply put, third track project improves safety and training operations for heavily traveled 10-mile segment. and facilitated long island railroads expansion into grand central sainted and midtown manhattan through eastside access. china third track along this corridor to accommodate the additional track greenhouse gas emissions three grade crossings with railroad bridges, with vehicular traffic would those eliminated these crossings ha

most sponsors have to get a permit from mta and dpw. part that permit is how are you going to clean up behind your event, so we are involved and mta is involved, so if there something needed we address it at that point. this slide is about illegal dumping. as you know, there is a big problem. our outreach team does a great job in canvasing the area, they go through trash on occasion and try to find out who is putting the trash out. when i first started at scs i was chinatown and saw this big illegal dumping on the sidewalk and i went through the trash and i thought it belonged to the store it was in front of, but as i went through the trash i found the address of the business across the street, so they would open their cardboard boxes, bring their stuff in and bring the trash across the street so it seems like it is somebody else. our outreach team really does a good job. they should be investigators. they do a real good job finding who put the trash out. recology is another asset of ours. they give us information. the corridor workers

we were fortunate when we came to the mta and said, hey, we are ready for changes and want our streets to be save and want equity to thrive. throw any and every pilot at us. we are willing to accept it. we want to see our streets safer. every street in the tenderloin is part of a high injury network. the high est density of children. we have the most people with disabilities, wheelchairs, mobility device users in the city. a large population of seniors. we have lot of public safety issues and street safety issues, so we are really grateful we have the opportunity to make some improvements. like the pilot of changing all the speed limit throughout our neighborhood to 20miles a hour. no right throughout the whole knhunty. the tenderloin was able to pilot those programs. those are successful and spread throughout the city and through the state. we are very proud that. we hope that continues to grow, escuilate and build a deep relationship with the city and advocates and community members that deeply want to see the streets change and have more access. we need to really focus on unfortunat

mta has absorbed the strategy whether a bike lane or other to figure how best to use the street? is this working? is it working for bikes and cars and buses? maybe not, let's switch it around and pilots have been important to oewd to our office particularly because we tend to have the ability and the mayor's support through the budget process to pilot things through request for proposals or rfp process where we can put out a small amount of funding, try activation and small public plaza, see if it works and i think the benefit there is, if it doesn't work we tried it and had the benefit of seeing real time and when it does work, we are able to uplift that and move into a permanent strategy and that is where our agency turns over something we piloted to another agency because it is part of the city operating procedure. pilots also give people hope. when we have the short-term whether it is physical public plaza or activation that shows change is possible and allows them to vote for what they like. >> lastly, in lith light of the current ai boom, do you think there is a way to leve
