does that fall all on mta? does dpw play a role? does the mayor's office play a role because i do feel that there has been a really significant reputational hit for this corridor. and i think it's up to all of us to, you know, support the kind of double recovery. there's the recovery from covid that one of the merchants spoke very movingly about and, and the recovery just what i think for a lot of business owners, feels like being the subject of an experiment that, you know, i'm is, you know, i think that it's really worth it for mta to reach out to other agencies and elected officials and see what we can do to. yeah, to make it the most beautiful bike bike lane in san francisco. i think that would be. and then i'd look forward to hearing other merchant groups saying, we want a beautiful bike lane, too. i don't know if that will happen but so chair with your with your permission, i would like to offer what i feel like is a somewhat minor amendment to the legislation that is before us today, but i feel like it's meaningful at our hea

he was the mta's first leader. i mean, the was, you know, 12 years old or 14 years old by then. who actually had a he had enough capital built up in terms of being a credible person in going to the community, having personal wealth in that if he not get the political support that needed from the governor who appointed him, he could walk away from the job and going to business leaders, real estate leaders, financial leaders in going to the media and saying we need to enact taxes on businesses. so we can rebuild this subway system from decades of decay and neglect if we don't rebuild the subway system, we are not going to be able to rebuild our cities tax base from the decline of the 1970s. but many people it's not to take away from -- ravitch very real accomplishments, but he could not have done this if weren't for governor hugh carey. he could only be independent because let him be in dependent. and i think that's important for people to think about sometimes governor or mayor is just appointing having a broad strategy laid out in let them do they need to do to accomplish that s

sf mta approved a multi-million dollar plan to fix the leaks. these are new photos of some of the damage to pipes and other leaks. the repair project will take nine months, and the station will close early next year. for up to 17 days to deal with this. these funds were in reserve, so it will not add to the agency's budget problems. the subway finally opened in january of last year, four years behind schedule, and now the leaks. the debate over the great highway has now sparked an effort to recall san francisco supervisor joel engardio. this morning, san francisco residents angered over engardio support for proposition k, which will permanently close the great highway to cars, filed a petition which seeks to remove him from office. recall organizers allege that engardio broke his promises to voters and failed to represent his constituents. their words saying the closure will cause traffic chaos in their neighborhoods. they will have to gather thousands of signatures for the recall to go to voters. engardio released a statement today saying, i re

sf mta approved a multi-million dollar plan to fix the leaks.hese are new photos of some of the damage to pipes and other leaks. the repair project will take nine months, and the station will close early next year. for up to 17 days to deal with this. these funds were in reserve, so it will not add to the agency's budget problems. the subway finally opened in january of last year, four years behind schedule, and now the leaks. the debate over the great highway has now sparked an effort to recall san francisco supervisor joel engardio. this morning, san francisco residents angered over engardio support for proposition k, which will permanently close the great highway to cars, filed a petition which seeks to remove him from office. recall organizers allege that engardio broke his promises to voters and failed to represent his constituents. their words saying the closure will cause traffic chaos in their neighborhoods. they will have to gather thousands of signatures for the recall to go to voters. engardio released a statement today saying, i resp

sf mta provided us with a lot of information. they're as a result of our data analysis and the community feedback that they have received. this is where sfpd is going to prioritize speed enforcement this coming year with the first four locations highly recommended for variety. additionally, the star locations are one that were evaluated for speed cameras but not selected as part of the initial pilot. so we will smriment --supplement. and additionally this slide shows other location that's we will support with speed enforcement as this rounds out the list for locations with speed cameras. so we intend to conduct speed enforcement here to help supplement as they were not 80 plus cameras that were given as part of that initial rollout. collaboration is critical to this plan. sfpd is not do this alone and we've made tremendous strides in working with our partners. they continue to operate to help them with their traffic enforcement efforts specifically as it relates to their operations. as always, we will continue to address concerns
