to extend this supplemental our mta funds today we're seeking the board's approval of the preliminary operating budget projection as required by our use and lease agreement with transit operators following board approval tgp is staff will work through april to develop the operating and capital budgets that service budget and capital improvement plan also known as cip in april as staff will present a budget outlook to the board followed by draft budgets at a public hearing in may and finally in june 2025 the tjp board will review and approve the final fiscal year 2526 budgets. the preliminary operating budget is projected at $28,344,000 which is approximately $618,000 less than what was provided to the transit operators in september. >> the projected total operating revenue has increased by close to $2.6 million resulting in a total reduction of $3.2 million. the transit operators contributions. next slide please. >> the increase of 2.5 million in revenue is due to the extension of the supplemental arm to funds for another three years to offset transit operators contributions. mtc has

the san francisco mta has already announced proposals to cut muni service by about 4% this summer. during its meeting tomorrow, the board will be considering three ideas on how this will work. if implemented, the agency will save about $15 million. but that's a drop in the bucket compared to the budget gap the agency is facing over the next few years. our job is that we have a projected $320 million deficit for the mta, and we're here to think about and prioritize policy options for how to address that. and that meanss something else has to happen. this is video from the sfmta working group, made up of agency leaders, staff, and users. they're hosting several meetings to brainstorm ideas for filling the gap, including a hope that the state would chip in to help ease the pain. but a local or regional tax ballot measure next year is the most likely scenario. we would really like a lot of the discussion to focus on the large ballot measures, because the small ballot measures require almost as much work as the large measures, but they are small. the overall problem for the sfmta is that ridership and other revenue streams h

that the board of supervisors accepted the infrastructure in the stage y b i and treasure island stage one areas that made the new roadways traffic signals, utilities, the assets of public works mta and the public utilities commission and significant milestone in that you know the these agencies now have assets on the island it's not still the the paradigm that everything that happens on treasure island is somehow external to their core operations but they have an ownership stake in the island now and this year will be moving forward into the stage two area of of the balance of major phase one surrounding hangars two and three and preparing our next affordable sites also this year notably the new wastewater treatment plant is expected to complete construction and begin operational testing in in september and be fully operational by the end of the year which will allow us to shut down the navy's historical wastewater treatment plant island which has long been one of our our most vulnerable infrastructure assets. and so recent aerial of the of the treatment plant site under construction you can see the wetlands along the shoreline are beginning to be constructed and in the foregrou
