as i said at the august 1st commission hearing, take 1600 square foot house over a garage, create a new unit in the garage and allow the retention of the curb cut. since the mta allows parking in driveways on the street but not on the sidewalk. if the supervisors remember the financial feasibility studies from when the housing element was approved, the key word in assessing the addition of 2 to 3 units at an existing lot with a single family home was challenging. the financial feasibility study for the upzoning was scheduled to be published last november, but that hasn't happened yet. under sb 423 ministerial approval is possible for 2 to 9 units of market rate housing. two units is a major loophole. like the current section 317 demo calcs in the staff's report, they acknowledge the economic reality that any second unit is very likely to be absorbed by the larger unit, but unfortunately, we don't live in a perfect worl. so this legislation is pretty good. and thank you for it. and i think we should consider expanding it citywide. thanks a lot. and thanks again for number two. that was really great. jane morrison turned me down for a job when i first came to s
