here region ly the cap and trade discussions will be happening tomorrow at mtc continuing on the framework that was introduced last month that we discussed in my last report talks about a very significant investment in the 3 major transit operators bart and muni and ac transit and the change since that time has been a proposal to change the core capacity formulas to savor some of the smaller operators proposes 30 percent to the big 3 and seventy percent to the other operators. the regional transit ridership is about eighty percent carried by the big 3 operators and the balance carried by the other operators so that will continue and hope there will be more time to make that formula more equitable across the region. so we're monitoring the transportation california and alliance for jobs proposal for statewide vls and if passed the fifty percent threshold could generate the estimated 25 billion dollars statewide and for san francisco slightly less about 57 million per year compared to 73 if we were to pass it locally. the active transportation program we've reported on in the pass past this

we worked with mtc to create a survey and they facilitated giving the link to their riders. and we got about 1500 responsive to that survey. and what we found is that shuttles are part of a travel behavior for san franciscans that is multi-modal and in general sustainable. so, the people who are riding shuttles for their communities are also taking transit and walking both to get to the shuttle, bull for their noncommute l trips as well. this way it's useful to us at mta because we're driving to have 50% of our trips be made by sustainable rides. as you all know, our commute where we are over capacity and it's more difficult for us to add capacity. so, knowing these are right people who are using the rest of our system during the times we have the most capacity to accommodate them give us a good picture. we also found that many of them said that they would be driving alone if they didn't have the shuttle, so that half of the folks who are taking the regional shuttles would be driving alone and about 30% of those who take the intra-san francisco shuttles would be driving alon

i am a member of the mtc -- and we need to get bicycle safety on the agenda and we get get it on the agenda. we passed two resolutions and recommendations to the board of directors. one is that the most dangerous intersections for bicyclists and we didn't specify which ones they were and needed to be mitd gaited immediately and the collisions constitute a public health crisis, and the second one was that we recommended that the board of directors investigate changes that would need to be made in state and federal law in order to make san francisco intersections like copenhagen and amsterdam compatible with the americans disabilities act. however, i encourage members of the board of supervisors to do this also and investigate changes that need to be made. two simple things could reduce our carbon footprint making roads and intersections safe for bicyclists and to creating safe secure bike -- indoor parking places that are staffed. imagine how much people we could get on the bikes if we could do these things? thank you very much. >> thank you ms. vaughn. next speaker. >> hi supervisors
