so we're very eager to be working across the region and with the mtc on what that next generation is, and looks like, and it is good. i think as carol said, that we are not on the leading edge now; that there is a lot of experience developing across the country and we're learning from the good and not so good as well and hoping to come out of it with a much better, more modern and flexible customer experience with lower costs, with better consistency across the region. and we're also looking at governance about how the program is managed in region? right now it's a contract between single entity that pretty much manages the entire clipper system and mtc and operators such as muney are only engaged through an interagency mou, which puts a little distance between us and the interfaces with our customers. so there is a lot of discussions across the region, not only looking atle the system, but mappinging it going forward as a region? in terms of layering of technologis that carol mentioned we're looking at working with mtc at pilot something different things such as mobile ticketing, whi

i've mentioned to many of you before, and supervisor wiener knows serving as a commissioner on the mtc, the metro politician commission, they have approved $557,000 that we can match with the local funds to get state repairs into the muni system to address the reliability issues that you discussed in your opening remarks. this 500 is a first step towards leveraging an additional of $550 million of regional dollars. supervisor mar made reference to the equity analysis. we are putting all of the expenditures in this go bond through a lens. this shows how the work first locations which are the high injury intersections and corridors, over lay with a map of income, and you can see there's actually an strong correlation between the location of where people are getting seriously hit and killed in our public rights of way and where our lower income population resides so we'll use this kind of analysis for all of the elements of funding in this go-bond to make sure we're closing equity gaps as we expend these dollars. the transportation department does have challenges awe you've all raises and

a grant from the mtc will fund the consultant contract for the cal train and study and various it related licenses such for the pp ts system will go ahead and the one time funding for the unfunded positions actually is in the project line on this chart and that of course goes away in fiscal year 15-16. and finally just looking at the position changes by type of project by initiative we see three next year, and four into 15-16 directly related to reducing backlog and from condominium conversions and environmental applications. about the same number of positions on long range projects largely funded through grants, the rail study, the waterfront studies, looking at public sites in the city, looking at the civic center public realm. we continue to see a backlog in code enforcement that we are slow -- slowly trying to address and we're looking at support services for the department to support the increasing staff. we're looking at a position to support the mayor's housing policy initiative that we can have a full time position devoted to housing initiatives and projects. we are looking for ad
