officials told us this morning that they have had that chemical weapons site, that stockpile of muammar gadhafi's chemical weapons under constant 24/7 aerial surveillance for some time now. and they report that that area is still under control. there is no indication that gadhafi forces have removed any of those chemical weapons or that any rebel forces have penetrated the facilities. so as of now, they feel comfortable about those chemical weapon stockpiles. however, there is widespread concern among the military and u.s. intelligence officials about the stockpile of 20,000 shoulder fired antiaircraft missiles that gadhafi had because there's no accounting for many of those. some of those stockpiles had been looted throughout this rebel uprising. and there is concern that some of them have in fact left the country. that is of deep concern because those weapons could easily, for example, bring down a commercial airliner if they fell into the wrong hands. and i can tell you there is some note of caution. look, the storming of this taking of this compound today is a crippling if not killing blow to

libya and sporadic fighting continues in tripoli, but as arwa damon tells us that forces loyal to muammar gadhafiave fled. >> as news of the rebel arrival spread, residents of qasr bin gashir emerged in small groups. they had heard of liberation in various parts of the country, even in tripoli. but they remain trapped. there was a military position here and over there, and there another base. she says they had no choice, but to lock their doors and pray gadhafi's forces would stay away from them. all of these flags were just recently painted whether the residents here realized that gadhafi forced begun to pull out and paint on this one is still wet and they say this is the first time that they have actually been able to feel freedom. gadhafi's forces had imbeddeds they in these farmlands, using the civilian population for cover. as they pounded rebels who took the tripoli international airport a week ago. nato and rebels were only able to target some areas in the area. they thought that the intensity of the fighting was linked to gadhafi's whereabouts and flue believe he slipped out of the area.
