this is the scene at muan international airport where teams are continuing work to identify the victims the 181 people on board. the acting president has ordered an emergency safety inspection of the country's entire airline operation system. the pilot of the jet is believed to have radioed air traffic control to say the aircraft had suffered a bird strike, shortly before crash landing and exploding. 0ur asia correspondent rupert wingfield—hayes updated me from the airport. a bit more information today, particularly from the transport ministry, saying that there was that distress call, that the pilot did call an emergency before trying to land, and had said there had been some kind of bird strike. now, bird strike is when a plane flies through a flock of birds and some of the birds get ingested into the engines, and they can then cause the engines to stall, or indeed to flame out, to lose power. and, you know, if you're in final approach to to a runway, that can cause a very dangerous situation, but it doesn't normally end up in this sort of crash. so its apparent that there are more fa
