it happened on northbound interstate 680 with the officer taken to john muir medical center where amy hollyfield joins us. amy? >> yes kristen, we hear the officer is going to be okay that he has moderate to major injuries including a possible broken bone. let's get to the video of the accident scene. it happened at 9:00 this morning. this was on interstate 680 northbound in danville the it happened to an officer who was on a motorcycle. the report is that the motorcycle was clipped by a big-rig truck. we can see from our shot from sky 7 that the big rig wheel came off. traffic was shut down, northbound, for more than an hour while they helped the officer investigate it and clear the scene. officers shifted their attention to the hospital in walnut creek. several are here to check on and support their injured colleague. we do think he is going to be okay. we will continue to monitor this story. the c.h.p. officer i spoke with did not hear if the big-rig driver will be cited for anything in this situation or if the driver is at fault. they say right now it is too early to tell. >> than
