mulvey is preparing for what we are calling the schumer shutdown. it surprises me that i have been through these before, that the democrats are opposing a bill they do not oppose. , theare for clean cr extension of the chip program, and many of them support the medical device tax, cadillac tax especially. they do not oppose anything in the bill that they are opposing the bill. i just want to let everybody know we do not want this. mr. schumer insists on it and is in a position to force this on the american people. we are involved in managing a lapse or shutdown and want to make folks understand it will look different than it did under the previous administration. one of the things i have learned is that there is no other way to describe, but the obama administration weaponize the shutdown. what they did not tell you is they did not encourage agencies to use carryforward funds that they were sitting on. nor did they encourage agencies to use transfer of authority. they could have used the shutdown less impactful, but they chose to make it worse. for
