mundy's welfare fraud and theft trial got under way in prince george's county court.ccording to state prosecutors, for four years mundey applied for free and reduced lunch. qualification is based on income and family size. state prosecutors say mundey used an invalid food stamp case number to qualify although she was actually making more than $70,000. mundey was appointed to board by rushern baker. she stepped down before the accusation s were made public. she was an employee for the government accountability office. that federal office searches for fraud within government agencies. mundey and four other gao employees were discovered defrauding the prince george's lunch program when the agency performed its own internal audit. it's important to note that mundey did pay back the $1,300 that she used in this alleged defrauding scam, but according to the prince george's county courts, they still wanted to go forward with this case. coming up on news4 at 6:00, we heard some testimony that sheds a little light on how this and other cases that are very similar were allowed
