murphy. a hearing got scheduled, i wasn't notified about the hearing. normally i'm the applicant and i get a call or letter telling me to go down and pick up the poster and bring it out to the site. and that has happened in every case. in this case it didn't happen. my understanding is that a letter was sent to mr. murphy's house. mr. murphy wasn't home during the summer. he was in ireland with his family. the variance was denied based on us not being there. i got a letter in late august. i called mr. murphy, unfortunately there was a family tragedy at the time i called. my client, mr. murphy it's father-in-law had gotten very ill and proceeded to die. when i called helmet, he was in the process of making arrangements to have the deceased brought back to the united states and to be buried. so it was a series of errors, partly on our fault, on our consultant's fault for not kiping in contact burk we also felt that i was at applicant should have been contacted to pick up the posters and notifie

joining me now is connecticut senator chris murphy. are in newtown today and i appreciate your taking the time. let me get a quick update from you about what we know. it has been a month, and are we any closer to understanding what motivated this shooter? >> this is an ongoing inv investigation and i think that it has been very difficult for the police to find out the motive here. this guy did a pretty good job of destroying a lot of the evidence, and his computer which he may have done a lot of gaming and correspondence on was ruined be by the time they got to the house, and although we expect there is going to be a report and the families desperately want as much information as they can get, we haven't gotten much. this community is still really grieving. this is certainly about the families of the little boys and girls who are lost, but it is also about teachers and administrators and first responders who may with be in the fury of the days and the weeks after the shooting didn't exactly understand how deeply it had affected them. t

i am substituting today for dan murphy, who has been ill for a while and we thought we better get these recommendations to you as quickly as we could. i am presenting recommendations. we came up with at our october and december meetings of last year. the first two concern church street and transit improvements there. the mta cac recommends that both the church street transit-only lane and the 76x marin express pilot projects proceed as presented. the cac requests that staff report back to the mta cac quarterly on their findings and at the end of the pilot project. cac recommends that the tep staff use other appropriate tools on the church street project including transit preferential significants and recommends that the agency take into account all modes flowing through the dubois/church intersection whether or not through signage or signals. the next recommendation, cac recommends that the agency report back on the possibility of selecting a low-income community as a destination for a second run of the 76x marin headlands express. the next motion has to do with the tep again. cac recom
