david murphy is talking about a rare fall heat wave possible. >> reporter: how about that. it could start on sunday. storm tracker 6 live shows we're dry over land, although we have had showers skirting past the coast. some of you m boardwalk this mo. as we look outside, clouds and sun, a pretty morning, the bands of cloud cover coming around the former tropical storm jose which is called a post tropical storm are providing us with breaks. we expect that sun and clouds mix through most of the day. the temperature, 71 degrees. the dewpoint has slipped into the 50s. it's not at all humid you have to get up over 6 to begin feeling humid. winds out of the comfortable, tn temperature, 72 degrees. satellite and radar shows you the wide cloud bands wrapping around the center of the jose which is sitting off our coast fairly stationary. overall we're going for sun and clouds, 73 by 10:00 a.m. noon, 78 degrees. with low humidity it will feel nice. 3:00 p.m., 84. i expect the 85 to hit closer to 4:00 p.m. when autumn officially arrives this afternoon. high temperature across the regi

let's go over to dave murphy and karen rogers.d morning. >> some folks waking up to thunder right now. >> yes, especially down south. let's go ahead and take a look. we have satellite and radar and you can see the line of cloud cover and also some of those showers out to the west. want to go ahead and start you on storm tracker6 live double scan and you can see that in the south, there is a cluster of thunderstorm activity pushing into areas around dover and this is pushing towards the north and east so if you're in south jersey in cumberland and salem county you may be picking up some of that, downpours and lots of lightning. up to the north it's spotty precipitation here or there, maybe a little bit of fog mixed in and out in the northern and western areas we've got some basic showers, couple of other thunderstorms pushing away to the east of allentown in through northern hunterdon county and some of this action out to the west may also make it into allentown a little bit later this morning. you can see plenty of clouds out ther

meteorologist, david murphy outside on the terrace with our forecast here, david. >> eventually we get some effects from irma. we have to wait. it won't be until tomorrow or wednesday as we see any of. that improvement with irma. it is no longer a hurricane. it has been downgraded as of 8 o'clock this morning to a tropical storm and you can see that florida so battered and put under the gun really over the last 48 to 72 hours is now clearing the rain pushing off to the north. what you're seeing is an infrared imagery of cloud cover and those reds indicate tall clouds that are capable of producing drenching downpours and that's what we've got now just to the north of charleston and also pushing in through atlanta where there is a tropical storm warning for the first time in atlanta's history, at least since the national weather service has been issuing that sort of thing. around here we have plenty of sunshine, although you can see the first clouds from irma creeping up through richmond, virginia and up towards washington, d.c. later tonight we'll probably see a little bit more of that
