meteorologist, david murphy outside on the terrace with our forecast here, david. >> eventually we get some effects from irma. we have to wait. it won't be until tomorrow or wednesday as we see any of. that improvement with irma. it is no longer a hurricane. it has been downgraded as of 8 o'clock this morning to a tropical storm and you can see that florida so battered and put under the gun really over the last 48 to 72 hours is now clearing the rain pushing off to the north. what you're seeing is an infrared imagery of cloud cover and those reds indicate tall clouds that are capable of producing drenching downpours and that's what we've got now just to the north of charleston and also pushing in through atlanta where there is a tropical storm warning for the first time in atlanta's history, at least since the national weather service has been issuing that sort of thing. around here we have plenty of sunshine, although you can see the first clouds from irma creeping up through richmond, virginia and up towards washington, d.c. later tonight we'll probably see a little bit more of that
