murthy: great question.greatest concern, where i hope to make the greatest contribution, is more around the values that we build and design society and our lives around. this is personal for me because i think about my two children, david, and the world they are growing up in. and i, like many other parents, worry at times. i look at the vitriol and polarization and so much of the hatred in our world and i ask myself, is my child going to grow up in a world where people are kind? where they are embracing? where they do not condemn my child because they made one mistake? they give them the chance, the benefit of the doubt? we need to build a society that is firmly grounded in kindness, in compassion, and in love. we need to build workplace cultures to reflect that and we need to build education systems to support that. and we need to also support parents, because they are struggling right now as they seek to give support and foundation for well-being to their kids. my hope going forward, if there is anything

murthy: i did get covid, yes. in fact, earlier this year in 2022, my wife and my two kids and i all got covid. and we actually know how it happened. it turns out my daughter, who is four years old and was in pre-kindergarten at the time, she ended up catching the virus from somebody in her classroom. it is really challenging if you are a family, especially a family with small children, to prevent yourself from getting infected. it is worth trying, and we certainly did as well. but at the end of the day, you're taking care of your child, you've got to hold and comfort them when they are ill, and that puts you at great risk if you have small kids. and many parents have experienced this, so thankfully, we were all vaccinated except my daughter at the time. there was not a vaccine yet for kids her age. but the rest of us were vaccinated. thankfully, we had a mild course of illness. but it gave me even more respect for this virus as something that should be taken seriously because, again, even with the protection we ha

murthy is spot on with his recommendation here. kristen:kristen: how did it become the general rule for these social media platforms to make 13 the technical minimum age on paper that you can get an account? >> it really started because the privacy laws of the united states and so -- excuse me, under, this is essentially a business decision by the big platforms. they know it is for the kids under the age of 13, so that is why the official rule is 13 and up, but as our viewers know, this is actually not the case. you have kids on big social media platforms as young as 7-9 years old, exposed to inappropriate content, often times without the social/ emotional maturity to be ready to deal with all the different kinds of experiences you can have on a social media platform. kristen: right. >> a lot of kids don't have emotional intelligence or critical thinking skills at those young ages. kristen: is there a way that that age 13 is even enforceable? i know kids get their accounts before that, they find ways to start -- to skirt it. is the
