tell me about my city for her. >> my city for her is a company i started five years ago.ticed an increasing trend of women getting in decision making position and becoming entrepreneurs and business owners and community leaders. i felt they deserved their own media company to talk about their experience and transfer knowledge amongst each other and share success stories. that's the company i started. i created the foundation in tandem as a meaningful commitment to give back to maryland and the community where we are based. >> let's talk about that. spirited women awards coming up. >> coming up august 15, 2012. there is more to do. they'll be at the four seasons. it is going to be fabulous. how that came about is i won a national award from the red cross six or seven years ago. i got this award and i thought this is wonderful. what can i do for the red cross? i decided to have fundraising luncheon. at the time i won the award morton's was very involved. it is like to power luncheon spot. i think women should have power luncheons. we got our idea and put our heads together

it started 15 months ago, we made our first investment in a company called my city way, which is working on intermodal transport. started in new york, now in 35 cities around the country and many cities around the world provided information to not only our customers, but also anyone interested in moving from a to be in a city. that has worked exceedingly well. as you have seen, we have been investing in other companies as well. the electric charging stations system is another one of those. as is our first in this and in parking. most of us leave our house is in the morning, go to work, part of our cars at work, leave a vacant parking space at home. if you can bring a marketplace together where someone can park under drive during the day, and of course, give them a certainty of where they will part, it works. many thousands of customers now are enjoying that has a potential different way of operating in the city. drive now was clocked 15 minutes -- months ago in munich. it is now in three other german cities. we have over 40,000 active users. what does that mean? well, they have an effici

president chiu: next speaker. >> when i was a single parents, i was disabled and then i got back on my feet. city college, i went there. i was able to find a job. i was able to take care of my two kids and send them to school. after that, i was disabled again. when i went back to work, i went to city college and i tipped classes new mexico -- i took classes and i want to do that kind of work. i could not do it before. i could not pay the money to take care of my kids and go to had a job making over $15 an hour that i did not want to go back to. i had to go back to my job to take care of my family. city college has done a lot for a lot of single parents. the situation is that i did not have to live a welfare life. i had a decent address and everything. the kids went to school and graduated. look out for the people who do not have the resources to go to the regular universities. president chiu: thank you. again, if i could ask members of the public. we shall only have one person speaking at a time and that is the person at the podium. >> greetings, mr. director, members of the board of supervisors.

slides of my favorite cities.amsterdam, berlin, how was this different than other districts in san francisco? second, i think about this -- how easy is the city to be used, to be navigated? we look at new york city, and the blocks are very narrow and long, and if you stand in the intersection, you can immediately tell if you are moving to the north or south, or east and west in the city. how does -- how do the plan marks and districts, the orientation -- when you move through, you are moving on top of the rich with the topography, and you also look to the towers of the next plaza, so you find your way through the city. these qualities are built with urban fabrics. for me, urban fabrics talk about how individual parts fit together. this is not just continuity of public spaces, but the interweaving of public and private, together. seeing these cities as fabrics -- allows them to design this within a project but within the district and within the city. in my research, the landscapes that flourished and endure are ric
