let's go to chad myers. how big of a threat is this? >> i don't think anybody really understands what the entire southwest part of the country has been going through in the past few years. this is a major threat. 4800 acres, almost 5,000 acres. that's five times, almost six times the size of central park right now on fire and that has just grown, obviously, in the last couple of days. the winds right now are 28 gusting there and that's the gust problem. the gust also pick up the sparks and throw those sparks downwind so when the firefighters think they have a handle on this, all of a sudden, there's another fire two miles down the road that they have to chase. it's the size and circumference around that they have to worry about. with no containment, it's getting bigger and bigger. you want to get it while it is small. when it gets large, the circumference gets bigger and bigger. the air conditions are 20% relative humidity and even lower in some spots. so no help from mother nature. and some of the storms that ana was talking about coul

let's start now with chad myers. he is in the cnn weather center. give us a sense of what is going on now, chad. >> brianna, things are calm do you think. it started near schenectady, new york and storms moved through there south of albany. and then it moved through parts of pennsylvania. showed those scary pictures of the windows missing off some of the cars. a storm right now moving over cape may. one moving offshore into virginia. a storm that was very large just to the south of d.c., fredericksburg getting into the chesapeake bay. and one more cell probably if it stays together, maybe close to elisabeth city. the pictures we showed you with the tornado damage was between baltimore and d.c. and moved very close to bowie, maryland. and then across the chesapeake bay into maryland itself, the eastern shore, across toward dover. and that's where all that damage came from. and what it looks like here, the trees are just twisted. the tops of the trees are gone. when all the trees fall in one direction, it's wind. but when the tops of the trees get twi
