of course myrtle heights, we have a number of folks in myrtle. we have these three neighbors working together to identify priorities. i want to highlight a couple of points is really important as we think about this budget. i think a big issue for us is clearly what is happening with the dept. of pub. health and i see barbara garcia who is here. there are significant cuts to the dept. of pub. health and these cats unfortunately have the potential to impact some of the most vulnerable people in our community. even though this in an effort to make sure that we don't cut homeless services, some of the largest cuts focus on residential treatment programs which are receiving a reduction of about 3.1 million. because of that we are talking about many residential treatment beds that are currently occupied that will no longer be available and we need to make sure that we address that issue. cuts are especially likely to impact some communities; the latino community, women, transgender community are going to be impacted. we want to make sure that is addre

the storm is currently exiting charleston and beginning to head towards myrtle beach. again, the track will go up the eastern seaboard, off new england and through the canadian maritime. it'll be gone by saturday afternoon. just kind of a wake-up call that the hurricane season is here. the other story is the heat in the west continues to be a scorcher out there in the desert southwest. yesterday, 110 in phoenix. vegas, 108. so forget spring. we're in the midst of summer. it was hot all the way through boise and medford and much of interior sections of nevada and sbeer washington and oregon state. how do we look this morning? we've cooled off a little bit. a weak low went through. there's a warm front trying to push onshore with showers in northern washington state. besides that, more of the same. we're talking about 112 today in phoenix. 110 in vegas. notice how much cooler you are spots. doesn't take long this time of year. we have so much -- the sunrises so early. by 10:00 it's hot. >> it's already boiling and sizzling there. tale of two coasts. >> just ahead, what w

flash flooding is a problem around the myrtle beach area. heavy rain hugging the outer banks of north carolina. going forward through the rest of today and on into tonight, here is your problem area. the red showing where we could have some severe storms. high winds, large hail. can't rule out the possibility of tornadoes either from north platte, nebraska, through kansas into the western parts of oklahoma, all the way down to the rio grande here. it does include childress, texas, and ft. stockton as well. all the elements are coming together for tomorrow. we've got warm, moist air in play, jet stream energy as well, scooting across the dakotas right now and the dry line coming into western texas. so what does that mean? that means more areas will likely see severe storms on tuesday, anywhere from iowa all the way down through oklahoma city and moore, el reno once again looking for the possibility of more tornadoes. we'll be watching portions of texas as well. as we head toward wednesday, you guessed it, more severe weather. it's no wonder w
