in new york and explaining the situation and the naacp kind of sadly made the calculation this case is a loser. we are not going to be able to win this case because and this is an important part of the history that i explained early on. matters of local taxation are actually uniquely immune from federal intervention. in 1937 there is a lot passed by congress called the tax injunction act which essentially prevents anyone from being able to sue over local taxation in federal court. as so long as there is a mean by which there can be adjudicated by the state and local level which essentially means these folks could only get justice in a court of law in arkansas, jim crow arkansas. this again was an instance and there were many instances throughout history of these kind of flagrant abuses of local tax proceedings and administrative manners. this was one was about as flagrant as it gets completely they got away with it. >> you mentioned the people that hired a lawyer to fight this flagrant jim crow taxation abuse what happened to the people that opposed the white planter? >> so violence
