eamon, can you update on what nadella said?>> the government side is arguing that google is a monopoly and nadella talking about how important the defaults are, like the default search engine position on apple devices of the nadella saying, you know, it's really bogus to argue that customers can change their default setting and switch to another search engine. sure, they can do that in theory, but they don't actually do that in real life so the defaults are vitally important. he says microsoft has gone after apple to try to get the search engine default for the bing search engine for years. they havin willing to pay billions of dollars for it and lose money in the short term and they have never been able to outbid google. he estimates, this is just a guess, that google's payments to apple are somewhere around $10 billion to $15 billion for the search engine position, and he's talking about how important that is. on the other side google's attorneys have been hammering him with questions about why was microsoft so late to the se

the comment on satya nadella's testimony, they did not have a comment.w senior media analyst sara fisher. good morning. >> good morning. >> two things obviously satya nadella runs a huge competitor to google. i want to put that out there. it's just notable that microsoft is the one that faced all of this anti-trust scrutiny from the doj back when that was the biggest anti-trust case of this kind before now. what do you make of what he said and what it will mean for this suit? >> the big take away, poppy, is at the time that microsoft was facing a lawsuit from the doj the ecosystem was different. we were primarily using desktop to search web browsers. satya nadella is arguing that these partnerships that google has with vendors like apple to make sure that it's the default search engine, make it very difficult for another competitor to breakthrough. and as a result, he argues, that google is able to collect an unprecedented level of data over its competitors like microsoft, that it would be able to use to train its ai algorithms. essentially he's saying,

how do you attract nadella to government? maybe most importantly, how do you keep nadella in government? pres. chaves: i don't need to tell you about be war for talent. one company gave $150,000 bonuses to their engineers not to move to another company. within the united states. that's more than i make in a weekend. [laughter] but that's a sizable amount just to stay put. we are trying to develop, attract and retain talent. the thing is that the government and private sector, the private sector has more agility. and the ability to raise salaries competitively will depend on a little imf program. we are straight a students and produce the ratio by 14 points in one month. that's one percentage point a month. but that doesn't allow us to spend as fast as we would like. that's a big challenge. we do have, like every other country in the competing business space, have skills in the rapidly rising environment. so we are deploying, trying to solve the structural issue, which is, we need to produce more for the country, and that's a
