cnn's nadia romero joins me. what do we know about the incidents so far?days we talk about these incidents only happening in big, metropolitan areas. let's go to taft, oklahoma. it's a town about 45 miles outside of tulsa, oklahoma, and there police say that one person is dead. seven people were shot. and this happened at a memorial day festival. police were expecting about 1,500 people to be out early this morning to enjoy the memorial day holiday. but it ended up in a shooting. no one is in custody but there is a press conference happening right now where we're hoping to learn more about that investigation. and now let's head to chattanooga, tennessee. this shooting happened late saturday night just about a mile or so from the tennessee aquarium. so a populated area. and police there tell us that six people were shot, two of them with life-threatening injuries. and, jim, police say all the people that were involved in the chattanooga, tennessee, shooting were young people, teenagers or early 20s. and weep just looked up numbers from the gun violence arch

cnn's nadia romero joins us. you actually talked to one of casey white's victims. what did they tell you? >> reporter: yeah, pamela. we're in limestone county, and this is where casey white went on a crime spree back in 2015, a carjacking and a long list of convictions. attempted murder, robbery, kidnapping. and that's what was supposed to put him in prison for 75 years. of course, he escaped last friday. so we spoke with one of his victims who was burglarized by casey white, a man named josh goan who was living in his home and he says he was minding his own business and went to bed. woke up the next morning and his neighbor told him a man tried to carjack him while he was holding his infant and that casey white used that man's gun in all of those crimes. he thought everything would be put to bed, but he had nightmares and he had to deal with this for long after. and it changed his perspective on the world after being a victim of casey white. take a listen. >> it honestly shocked me. i locked my doors after that. it stole a little bit of my peace and security. the

so joining me now is cnn national correspondent nadia romero. you have been following this story.o you know about the final hours of this manhunt leading to vicky white's death? >> reporter: yeah, don, we know that they were in evansville, indiana. to give you an idea, we are in lauderdale county in florence, alabama. two hours north is williamson, tennessee. that's where they found the first getaway car. it was a ford edge and it was orange and it was partly spray painted. that was abandoned in the road there about two hours north of tennessee is evansville, indiana. and that's where they found vicky white and casey white staying in a hotel. how, it was on sunday we had the news that came into the alabama authorities that they spotted this truck, an f-150 and casey white at a car wash. and then we're told the u.s. marshals this zeroed in on a hotel there in evansville. they were planning to have a s.w.a.t. team go in. instead, casey and vicky white came out of that hotel. a police pursuit ensued for about 10 to 15 minutes. they wouldn't stop, and so the u.s. marshals used one of

cnn's nadia romero has the story. >> reporter: casey white is scheduled to stand trial for capital murderway this summer. but last friday he escaped forcing the family and including her son austin williams through a roller coaster of emotions. >> my feelings have been all over the place. just adrenalin and stress. and just not sleeping really well. >> reporter: white's violent criminal history states back to 2010. court document as ledge he beat his brother with an ax head hammer handle landing him in prison in 2012. he was released four years later. and in october 2015 connie ridgway was murdered in her apartment in alabama. police did not charge him. and months later in december, white went on a crime spree that included a home invasion, carjacking and a police chase. he was indicted on 15 counts in march 2016 and later convicted on 7 of the charges including attempted murder and robbery. he was sent to prison with the first possibility of parole in 2021 but the district attorney said white admitted to killing connie ridgway. he was then brought to the detention center to be arraigned o

cnn's nadia romero has more. >> reporter: let's talk about the mass shootings that happened just thisy and sunday. so that means we've seen nine mass shootings just this weekend alone, and that's defined as four or more people shot, not including the shooter, in a single i think so, and when you take a look at this map. you can see this isn't a west coast problem, tgsit's is not a state of florida problem. this is something we're seeing in big cities and small towns alike in the country. that's just over the past two days. when you add up all the mass shootings we have seen this year, we're at 228. more than 225 mass shootings happening across the country, according to the gun violence archive. let's dive into what we saw just this weekend. let's start with henderson, nevada. police telling us that seven people were shot in an interstate there, and today they say they now have three people in custody saying that it was bicycle gangs. so rival gangs feuding, and that's what led to that shooting. seven people shot. now three people in custody facing multiple charges. and then you can go

cnn nadia romero is following the latest. how far and wide is the search for these two tonight?'re seeing that search really nationwide now, pamela, because investigators have been really honest with us saying they have no idea where these two could be. let's start with here, where i'm at, the lauderdale county courthouse. this is where inmate casey white and vicky white. they said they were going to come to this house. and we all know that that wasn't true. they got into a patrol car, and they abandoned it in a shopping mall not far from the courthouse, about four miles or so from the courthouse. we have pictures inside that patrol car. investigators found her jail keys, handcuffs, her radio, leaving her corrections officer life behind in the car and then fleeing, presumably getting into another get away car, a bright orange ford edge. well, that ford edge was discovered in williamson, tennessee, abandoned in the middle of the road. and inside, invest igators didnt find anything, quite the opposite of the patrol car, not a trace of ether one of them. but they do believe that wa

cnn's nadia romero has the details on this case. >> reporter: the search continues for corrections officercasey white, who both disappeared on friday. now, the inmate and the corrections officer are not related according to the sheriff's office. the sheriff's office with the fbi both working on the case. let's start with 38-year-old casey white. you see him here with two very distinctive looks. one with the shaven head, no facial hair, and a more recent picture of him with hair and a beard. also you'll notice he's 6'9". that means he should stick out in almost any crowd. he was already serving a 75 year prison sentence for various charges like robbery and attempted murder. and on friday, corrections officer vicki white removed him from the jail, supposedly to take him to the county courthouse for a mental evaluation, but the sheriff says there was no evaluation or hearing scheduled. sheriff also says vicki white should have known the policy to have two sworn officers escorting the inmate. sheriff singleton says he doesn't know if officer white is an accomplice or hostage. >> was she overpo
