i think that katie my nadine were exposed getting into the building. i remember having a candid conversation how could a community in so much pain fight something so good the answer is topple toxic shock the leaders for the last 40 years have experienced trauma they i'd like to take this opportunity wrap their minds around. so i want to everyone to take a moment and look at all the faces that have come into the building those are the faces of people who have come to serve the community. i mean this is really a calling not a job you're either made for this work or you're not. i think chief suris a great example and is made for this. the thousands of kids not only in boyfriend but from all over the san francisco area will have a new lease an life from this center and dr. harris has helped to institute some vocabulary about toxic stress what it looks like and children as well as the community are exposed to poverty. i want to acknowledge the mayor and the folks from nancy pelosi's office. we're breaking up pockets of poverty and infussing it with hope but

so when katie and a nadine came to us with their vision and i might add they're two of our top leaders in our protocol they put forth a plan to team up with c mc and create a one stop center for families. when they told us about that we were excited. at the tip bent 95 folks came togeth and raised money in one night to launch this initiative. those names have been scrolling but lisa with whom we couldn't have done this and membrane i didn't haas. so today, i'm proud to stand at the grand opening the center of this building under one roof we have 3 things happening pediatric services and bayview child center providing high that he hadic care of families regardless of their ability to pay they use an early understanding of how it is draethd dedicated to the prevention of young people exposed to stress. and joint project of the san francisco child abuse prevention center in the city and county they get a multiple approach to abuse. as this organization accomplishes truly acres goals on behalf of the children i'm happy to stand on you with this vision. before we take a tour we have a short

[ applause ] >> hello, my name is nadine duffy. my child was the first to be in the i talk class 18 years ago. he did attend the bridge school and was able to learn how to use a communication device at 4 years old. but i was very saddened by the fact that san francisco unified school district did not have an i talk class, but i knew that my child wanted to communicate. but after he was at bridge school for 4 years san francisco unified got an i talk class. and my son was transferred back up into district. and i just wanted to thank you for allowing my son to go from i talk at frances to an toss to mission high and he's doing very well. he's currently working 2 days a week at ucsf. he's a greeter. he uses his talker. if it were not for him getting the basics at frances scott, i don't think he would be where he is now. a lot of parents have stopped me over the years, after my son left bridge school he didn't talk anymore, what did you do? it wasn't what i did. i had support from san francisco i talk class every step of the way. i'm j
