so if you're a skier or snowboarder, it looks like nagano's ready for you. up toward the north, definitely seeing a lot of snowfall. over hokkaido, some areas are seeing snow up to 74 centimeters. we do have a couple of areas of high pressure moving to the east. areas towards the north may deal with more snowfalll like hokkaido. but we are looking at a big cooldown toward places like chinina and the korean peninsul. wewe're talking abo a huge dror where you're going to be shifting from warm weather to much colder weather with longer sleeveves in place. and for those looking into hokkaiaido, you may be dealing with snowfall over the next 24 hours. and high wave heights. be on the lookout for that. so look at this. by sunday in beijing, we're dropping 7 degrees for the high. it's going to stay that way through monday. and look at this in tokyo.. going from 21 to 14 from sunday into monday. make sure you have your late fall/early winter type clothes reready. looking at north amamerica, we have an extended cold front moving through the deep south into the desert

actually i'll show you some video coming out of nagano prefecture, one of the more popular ski resorts out there has just recently opened here. they just started making some artificial snow opening in late october, two runs open, 15 yards wide, 400 meters long. you can see a little jump course there as well. you can get out there if you do want to scratch that itch to head out to some of the ski slopes. not until december will all ten of their slopes open up, that's just the artificial stuff and with the temperatures up in the mountains, they're definitely working hard to keep those slopes running. meanwhile back towards the west, high pressure continues tos ts dominate, keeping things on the cold side there in northeastern china. unfortunately, that high does create an inversion. and when we talk about that, we're talking about the problem with pollution and reduced air quality. if you know, typically in the atmosphere, we have cold air aloft, that's why on top of the mountains there's snow, but when you get this high, often it sinks down to the lower elevation, that's when we get tha

heaviest back to the west, nagano and across the mountains of nam nashy. but even a little bit of snow in the tokyo area, by the way, this is exceptionally early for classic snowfall event out here. the fact that it is going to be causing some travel delays. you want to be putting a few extra minutes on your commute for sure here on thursday morning. and if you're flying in and out of haneda, be prepared for delays if there is snow on the ground. really accumulating up at some of these airports. something we're really watching out for. things will warm up by friday into saturday, get back to more of a seasonal event out here. we have warmer temperatures from the southwest, along with the rainfall, but as we look ahead here into the weekend, even into tokyo, three just for the high. by thursday, it will rebound to about 13 by friday. still snowfall to the north and towards nagoya. temperatures jumping back up into friday and saturday. let's look into the tropics across north america. i want to talk about this because this is a very serious weather event out

top of an already above-average snow base around sapporo, extending through tohoku, niigata into nagano. it's not just the snow. there's going to be vastly lower temperatures. sapporo minus 2 for the morning low. tokyo 4, flirting with the zero-degree mark, some inland areas pushing the freezing point here on thursday admonishing. might be even seeing frost in some of the foothills around tokyo as well. let's talk about the election out here across the americas. because we have going on is really widespread precipitation expected in the central areas of the u.s. and whenever we're talking about undecided voters, maybe people that they look outside, not really determined on exactly going out and standing in line for several hours to vote in the rain, this is definitely a major impact that you could be seeing. it does look like some areas, especially from oklahoma toward chicago, maybe into the northeastern u.s., could be seeing some scattered showers here on election day, november 8th. maybe some thunderstorms down towards the south. also you do have to remember whenever we do see any se
