i'm denise nakano. chester county political leader managed campaigns, including the current lieutenant governor's race. adam swope also volunteered at his fraternity. he died when a tractor trailer overturned on 202 in west negotiaten and crashed into his car. nbc10's aundrea cline-thomas joins us live at the chester county democrat office. >> reporter: well, denise,s if a devastating day for chester county democrats tonight. they are saying that adam swope is a hero among organizersers and activists. service was clearly his calling. he served in the democratic party but also at his university in west chester university. yesterday around 12:30 in the afternoon police say his car was hit by a tractor trailer that entered into oncoming traffic before turning. seven other cars were involved in the crash that caused a chain reaction. swope was the only one who died. he worked as an administrative assistant for county commissioner kathico zone who he helicoptered get elected. was an eternal optimist who love

i'm denise nakano. in the past 15 minutes we've learned the suspect will be charged with first and third degree murder. this all unfolded around 12:30 this afternoon in elkins park. police found the body in the basement and say there were clear signs of a homicide. nbc 10's andrea cline thomas is at the scene, and we're getting more and more information. what can you tell us? >> reporter: just minutes ago, denise, we got even more information. that victim has been identified as harry bachmann. he was found dead in the basement of his home. now, when he didn't meet a family member last night police were called do a wellness check. that's when the 64-year-old's body was found. detectives were called to this home on the 400 block of north sterling road around 4:30 this afternoon. now, according to the district attorney there was an obvious struggle and harry bachmann died of what appeared to be blunt force trauma. officers say jameisson also stole his brother's car. detectives went door-to-door searching f

i'm denise nakano. the church shooting happened near san antonio, texas, about 12:30 this afternoon. lauren mayk has been following this for us. >> denise, the shooter is believed to be from a neighboring town and just seconds ago his name was released. it's devon patrick kelly, 26 years old. we've also just learned one of those killed was the 14-year-old daughter of the pastor and his wife who were both out of town during this shooting. the sheriff says approximately 25 people are dead, including the shooter. now, this all happened inside a small church in a small texas town. it's called sutherland springs. it's about 30 miles outside san antonio where some of the victims had been taken to be treated for their injuries. the victims were inside the first baptist church in sutherland springs. authorities say a man walked into the church and began shooting. at this point, the sheriff says there is no information about why. a witness who was at a gas station near the church heard the gunfire and said it so
