nancy cordes, cbs news, the white house. >>> well, dangerous weather continues to impact parts of the country including flash flooding in southern california. 3 inches of rain fell near san diego yesterday in a three-hour period. vehicles were swept away, homes were inundated. people and pets had to be rescued. and a major freeway was shut down leaving hundreds of cars stranded. in the midwest, snow, freezing rain, and ice storms created a mess and caused havoc on the roads. outside st. louis a fire truck was unable to stop and slid along an icy street. the coast guard says 20 people were rescued by air and by boat on a floating sheet of ice on lake erie. they got stramted yesterday on a half mile-long ice floe near ohio. severe weather is expected to continue this week with heavy showers, thunderstorms before a thaw-out. >>> and now to the israel/hamas war. breaking overnight, a big loss for israel's military. the idf says 21 soldiers were killed in gaza in one of the deadliest single attacks since the three-month war. israeli media says the soldiers were preparing explosives to demo
