nancy gibbs and matt bai from yahoo! news, and let's begin with hillary clinton and the e-mails. rich lowry, the cover -- is it going to sink hillary's campaign? the hillary team says that's overblown. what do you think? >> the problem she has no one believes her. the reason why she set up this private system was clearly to maintain complete control over her official records. and now she's a hostage to fortune depending on what the fbi concludes about the lawfulness of this arrangement and depending on what of her personal e-mails are recovered, so-called personal because it's really hard to believe that she sent tens of thousands of e-mails as secretary of state all about her yoga routines and wedding cakes >> it's also hard to believe they would make such a declarative statement that there was anything there marked classified. i talked to clinton supporters, nancy gibbs, that believes she has to come out and sort of say what she has said before, which is that, yeah, it was probably a system up. >> i think the problem is the declarative statements haven't been that declarative.

here with me is nancy gibbs.itor of "time" magazine and as all of you know, if you're a big idea or person that people are talking about, soorp or later you will appear on the cover of "time" magazine. so my first question is why this photograph? >> you know, we're so used to almost seeing the cartoon version of his face, whether he's, you know, telling you, "you're fired "and pointing at you or frowng that i actually wanted to see him when he was not mugging, when he was not doing any kind of exaggerated expression. everything about him feels so-- so extravagant that doing something that is much more straight. so martin schuler shot the portrait. he's an extraordinary portrait photographer. he's done any number of "time" covers so i thought it would be almost a different way of seeing him when it's just a little quieter than what we're used to. >> rose: and we can see over there an eagle? >> yes, we flew an eagle in from texas for that shoot and i give him credit for being game because the eagle pretty much tras
