longtime state senator nancy jacobs says she may be the perfect -- perfect challenger for next year's election. senator jacobs said she thought about running for the second congressional seat 10 years ago but field for chances are stronger now with the bipartisan change in washington. the senator said she believes being a republican will not work against her. >> a lot of what i do is not partisan. i think because i have represented a strongly democratic area before, this is not going to be that much different. >> center jacobs says she will make a decision whether to run within the next three-four weeks. we contacted congressman dutch's office. a statement said, he always looks forward to the campaign process. there is some good news for the gop hopeful newt gingrich, now that herman cain has suspended his campaign. gingrich appears to be picking up some of cain's supporters. as brian moore explained, he is hoping to get the endorsement of a former rival. >> newt gingrich is on our role in iowa and new hampshire, but he spent the day in new york, according the support of donald trump.
