. >> reporter: it really is, kyle and the goal for denver public works according to nancy kuhn, who is their communication director is to make one center swipe down all of the residential side streets and the goal here is not go all the way down to the pavement level but swipe down so there's enough snow to keep the ice from forming. we have seen a couple crews transition through this area and you can see it's not quite down to the pavement but that slush as more cars drive out and about is definitely turning now from pure ice to kind of a wet slushy mix. now, as far as the rest of the trucks go, there's about 80 of them out across the residential side streets, they are smaller trucks with plows attached to the front end and they are going to cover about 1300 miles of lane there. as for the bigger trucks that are out across the main streets like areas of parker or mlk, there are 70 of those separate trucks and they are going to cover the bigger areas so the larger trucks and they are covering about 1800 lane miles so as you head out and about have to do plenty of shoveling, eight to 10
