but i will say that in your programs we have a brief biography of our keynote speaker today, naomi kellyu can read that at your leisure about her background. suffice it to say that ms. kelly is an extraordinary woman with a great contribution to the city and county of san francisco in her administrative capacities. we have the pleasure of working with her and the city administrator, ed lee, when the society was engaged in working to have the city adopts a slavery disclosure ordinance, which the board of supervisors did adopt. it is on the book. the ordinance would require certain entities that do business with the city to disclose whether their origins -- where they have their origins historic plea, and whether they are in any way related to slave trade. we worked closely with ms. kelley in that regard. the skills, expertise, and commitment she brought to that challenge was unswerving in terms of its implementation. at the board of supervisors last week, we were there when the announcement -- when she was before committee with regard to her nomination to become the next city administrato

my name is naomi kelly. i'm the city administrator for the city and county of san francisco. this last year i have had the honor of working with board of supervisor john avalos. mayor ed lee, all of the city departments who are responsible for delivering capital products and co-chairing a local policy hiring working group. last year we were able to put our heads together, work collectively to implement this landmark policy to bring to wherever -- whenever we are implementing our capital projects to make sure that our monies also go to providing local jobs to this communities that are impacted by our capital projects. we work together with a different department head to maximize existing resources and to minimize costs and we have successfully done that. i want to thank all of our department heads here today, department of public works mohammed nehru. teresa sparks from the human rights commission, the public utilities commission. i would like rec and park for hosting here at the playground. this is one of the projects that is under construction and that are hitting its local

let's give naomi kelly a round of applause again. thank you.] thank you all very much. ♪ when a resident of san francisco is looking for health care, you look in your neighborhood first. what is closest to you? if you come to a neighborhood health center or a clinic, you then have access it a system of care in the community health network. we are a system of care that was probably based on the family practice model, but it was really clear that there are special populations with special needs. the cole street clinic is a youth clinic in the heart of the haight ashbury and they target youth. tom woodell takes care of many of the central city residents and they have great expertise in providing services for many of the homeless. potrero hill and southeast health centers are health centers in those particular communities that are family health centers, so they provide health care to patients across the age span. . >> many of our clients are working poor. they pay their taxes. they may run into a rough patch now and then and what we're able to prov

my name is naomi kelly. my husband and his business partner purchased 1622 11th in 2003. it was taken and their objective was to renovate and occupied. at this time, our business partner moved into the room and rented our rooms during that time. rooms were rented to college students. we currently reside in a home and have been there for 16 years. we really like the sunset district and want to make 1622 11th ave. our home. the family never would be a great location for my parents to occupy one unit and my family and other current my family is here with me and my father currently lives with us. we approach our project in a way we believe were in the guidelines of the zoning code. we received neighborhood in put and planning department input. we adjusted our design and our house. we are happy to present this project before the commission with planning departments of four. i would like to address some of the concerns about the application. when my husband and his partner purchased the house in 2003, it was vacant. we are temporarily renting rooms to students. because we read

it leads me to supporting naomi kelly's announcement she has made in the last 24 hours of selecting not only good friend but someone that i valued in his eagerness to serve our public in the appointment of mohammad nuru. he comes in at a time when his skills have been demonstrated for this public works department, but also at a time when public works is not only implementing and managing these very important projects like general hospital, but we also have appeared 27, the cruise ship terminal that is already started -- pier 27 and the cruise ship terminal. we had the public library project. and the the last two completing a program that has been very successful for the city. we will get there with the bayview and north beach library. they will be completed because we have wonderful public works managers on top of that. we have the chinese recreation center that is about to be completed with rec and park. we have a number of fire stations that are part of the whole public safety program, again it reflected in the 10- year capital infrastructure plan. i want to note that public works, wh
