welcome back i'm still a camp and now here's naomi scherr vonnie with the weekly defense. oil companies are getting enthusiastic about stopping climate change a little too enthusiastic exxon announce it has a low carbon strategy unit does that mean they're going to retire there or will rigs no no no they found a way to keep pumping instead exxon is offering to clean our air shell and exxon are looking to profit from capturing customers carbon emissions which sounds a lot like if chipotle a monetized diarrhea the technology they're using to clean up their mess is called carbon capture and storage it's a process in which carbon is removed from the air and stored in the ground which on its face seems like a sisyphean task to pump out carbon from the ground release it into the air suck it out of the air and then return it to the ground but fossil fuel companies see it another way it's an honorable burial for oil returning it to its home however this technology is not very cost effective when you compare it to another carbon capturing technology trees. but don't worry you can s
