here in napa, behind me a mini mountain of straw wattles the napa county office of emergecy services teamed up with wattle guys a local producr of straw wattles to offer these for free. these are for erosion contol specifically to be used in the areas effected by fires, that devastated so much. the 8 foot wattles hae instructions attached for residents. they are out at the lot at the napa valley expo. there are also wooden stakes to help keep the wttles in place to do their job. the goal is to help protect loal creeks and the napa river from ash and tocis materisal s by stabliizing the burned areas. already, tragedy has struck because of unstable ground a boulder - part of a rock slide down on highway 121 in napa - the boulder colliding with a car, and the driver killed, the car went over the embankment. these are pictures from caltrans of the scene highway 121 near atlas peak shutdown for nearly 20 hours this is vince jacala with caltrans. vince jacala, caltrans spokesperson. we brought in geologists.jacala says they have been checking out hillsides ever since the fires and they wil
