chopper five was overhead as the gates opened for the 2021 bottle rock music festival in napa. already things are off to a bumpy start. this afternoon we learned tonight headliner, chris stapleton, has dropped out of the festival. the singer blamed an illness unrelated to covid. stapleton sent out a tweet to vance saying in part, it is with a heavy heart that i will be unable to perform tonight at bottle rock. please know it is not a decision we made lightly, and we thank you for your understanding. kpix 5 is live in napa, with the rules in place to keep the weekend musical covid safe. >> there are a lot of covid safety rules in place, here, but there are a lot of excited people, too. 100,000 people are going to come up to napa from bottle rock this weekend, it's one of the largest events the bay area has seen since the start of the pandemic, had it definitely not covid safety lightly. some choose to rock out, some part for the long haul, but either way, bottle rock is rocking once again. >> having the best time in years. is awesome. >> reporter: the festival was pushed back in

napa still expected to be smokey today. as we look at our forecast, it does stay hazy with some moderate air quality. you might want to keep the children from being outside for long periods of time. i think short periods of time are okay, especially since we are seeing some improving air quality at least for this morning. let's go to the south bay. milpitas and cupertino heading toward 90 degrees. antioch reaching 98 degrees. hayward in the mid 80s. today in oakland looking at some low 70s. we'll see low 70s near the coast and mid 80s in redwood city and palo alto. san francisco reaching the mid 70s downtown. we are seeing some fog. so we are going to see that quickly clearing out, sunshine the rest of the day. our north bay temperatures heating up to the mid 90s. it will cool off. we're going to see a storm system approaching into the pacific northwest. some showers for the far northwestern corner of california, but then that rain looks to fall apart as it moves here. but we're still going to get the cold front. take a loo

in napa county. i'm james torres, ktvu fox two news, and we continue to follow the latest developments out of the state of florida, where the fbi right now is executing a search warrant at brian laundries family home. this comes after a body was found yesterday in the state of wyoming, believed to be that of his fiancee. 22 year old gabby petito ktvu is amanda quintana live in the newsroom this afternoon with the latest on the search of that house, amanda? yes in just the last few hours, detectives with north port police and the fbi swarmed the house. we have video from that scene. as you can see, in this video, there's a large police presence that includes fbi agents walking in and out of the home. they then entered a shed in the backyard collecting evidence, and in the last few minutes we saw brian's mustang. be towed away. we're told his parents were also seen being removed from the home and put in a van with police but have now been let back inside their son. though brian laundry is still missing
