let's take a first look over here at northern napa county. look at this area of heavy rain that's working its way into the northern edge of napa valley at saint. helene are right there. calistoga little bit further southward. you can see just how heavy this rainfall is working its way. generally in a southeasterly direction. and as it does so will impact areas along 80 like vacaville and fairfield here in a matter of hours. so i'm going to be taking a look at the showers as they do move across the bay just make sure to note that we do have some heavier stuff mixed in with these lighter showers out there. one. 0, one from santa rosa petaluma nevado down through centerville mill valley. also wet from these light showers that are pushing overhead there. some heavier rainfall in the western edge of mount tam, as you can see. and then we're also seeing some light sprinkles here and there from concord walnut creek, oakland, you're actually under a pocket of heavy rainfall there. the very southeastern edge of the city right between oakland and san l

this time yesterday morning everywhere is higher, 13 degrees higher in napa. the where we're at this time yesterday, 5 degrees higher in novato fairfield, 7 degrees higher in oakland and san francisco. see you get the picture and it's only going to continue to grow and grow over the next couple of hours. so stepping out of the house right now. 56 in downtown san jose. 51 in the war. 52 in dublin right now, 60 degrees. if you're in alameda. 56 in oakland, 60 right here in san francisco. 63 in tehran are ready, 50 degrees in nevado. and 51 in napa. so why the heat? it's all thanks to this high pressure, the strong pressure. this a ridge that we're seeing a continuing to build around the bay area and really strengthened into the afternoon. it's keeping any type of cloud cover. what weather away from the bay area to blocking any type of storm system because we are seeing a couple of storm systems that were passing through. they're all going to the far north of us in oregon and washington. and that's what's going to keep the temperatures so hot. we have to break do

napa is porta cork. it's part of the world's largest cork , harvester and processor, of course, almost all imported from portugal. so there's plenty of cork. getting it to the wineries is quite another matter. we used to have on average, a 60 day door to door lead time from our portugal. ah, support to support of oakland. and we have we're averaging around 212 days. right now. that is some 90 million corks stranded at sea or in ports. i have never in my career had as much product ah, that is en route as i have right now, of course, containers sit at the ports for as much as a month because they're buried in a massive containers and trucking is not available before the pandemic completely screwed up shipping. quarter court would have bag shipped to it. 5000 quarts each for just $7 a bag today that is $37 a bag times 78,000 bags a year. big picture one container from portugal to oakland pre pandemic ship for $2500. today it is $14,000 after covid. i thought we'd hit the worst of the worst. but it's not got

napa nevado fairfield closer to a quarter of an inch of rainfall and then closer to a 10th of an incht of the rest of the bay area. there's another system to follow that that arrives friday night into saturday morning. and what you had both of those together, santa rosa could see around an inch of rainfall nearing that for napa novato while most of the rest of the bay area seeing around a half an inch of rainfall as we continue through the rest of this week. so it's nice to see multiple chances of it ahead of us and paired with it. some cool temperatures, some breezy conditions at times, although today, not even as windy as yesterday. yesterday was already not as windy as the day before it. so we've gradually been calming down. we're keeping the cool temperatures with us, though, 50's for a whole lot of the bay area again today. although you're going to notice a few more 60's today showing up in your 4 zone forecast like on the peninsula. pretty uniform. 60 degrees there. san jose. you'll be at 62. and as for the east bay sharing a range of upper 50's to low 60's oakland, san leandro,
