we're here at cal fire's napa county station. number 25 and october 2021 was the last time they had a red flag warning here. they say that they are ready. they've done a lot of work and made some big changes to help residents be better prepared and better protected. and in 2017, the fire burned just right up here across the road from my house, i'm sue wagner, says. that was the night of the glass fire. if you've ever been through something like that, it is terrifying. i mean, to be woken up in the middle of the night, you know, 15 minutes with the high low sirens coming down the street. and that is why wagner and other napa county residents take fire season and these red flag warnings so seriously. just last week, we removed a trailer that we keep all of our possessions and that can't be replaced. and during fire season, we take it offsite. wagner lives in the circle oaks community northeast of napa and says she has two backup generators in case pga turns off their power. as a precaution this week, the national weather service ha

not just in napa county, but parts of northern california. we are sitting be need a blanket of fire danger. lakeport that area suffering wildfires just a few years ago, not in the heart of the bay area, but these days you never know. fire can happen anywhere. it's dry everywhere. santa rosa, same deal. they're drying out as we speak because when was the last time you saw heavy rainfall, they're very sensitive to wildfires. we saw what happened to them just in consecutive years in 2017 2018 with those massive wildfires, cal fire. they are ready to roll and they want you to be ready to roll as well. so take a look at your screen. these are some tips we want to pass along to you. so you can keep your place safe. make sure that you remove all the possible leaves on the ground. obviously, those go up very quickly. should there be a fire, the move, anything flammable like plastic chairs away from the outdoor area, maybe bring them inside. make sure you have an evacuation plan. use any equipment that might cause a spark. maybe a weed wacker or a law
