now you can see into the napa area.l, things have settled down a little bit from some of those thunderstorms early on, but still some rain there. and if you look towards fairfield, still some strikes happening there. it's real possibility. you could see some thunderstorms developing in that area. so very active weather all around the bay area this afternoon, especially focused in the north and the east bay, the rest of the bay area. couple scattered showers in the east bay right now, but not much. then you get to the peninsula in the south bay. no rain at all. but this is going to continue over the next couple of hours here. we'll be tracking right here on kron 4. all right. lawrence says covid cases here are on the rise across the bay area. a santa clara county officials there responding these high levels of the virus in their community. health officer doctor sara cody says that cases are rising again to higher levels than last summer surge. yeah, these are the case rates across the bay area right now. as you can see.

today is going to be basically a repeat of yesterday, a couple of areas where we could see some heavy rainfall even up into solano and napaf the bay area. a few light sprinkles are possible. we've seen enough of those sprinkles this morning on the peninsula, especially up in the santa cruz mountains, parts of san francisco and marin as well as right around sun old. most of us haven't seen much of anything. just some dry skies this morning. but as we look at the afternoon, more snowfall up in the sierra look at this. napa solano county seeing again, the potential of some isolated heavy pockets of rainfall, maybe even a few rolls of thunder, especially out of the delta and the central valley. now, today is last day bringing the school, whether this really windy weather and also any sort of potential of rainfall. tomorrow starts a big switch up as we will be seeing high pressure building in and temperatures slowly climbing. so winds again, going to be a factor today. this is going to keep us cool and brisk well into the afternoon. 25 mile per hour gusts all over again. that low pressure area that's brought us. this cooler we

that's about to see some of those stronger gusts to napa into the fairfield area. and then it really gets going the following day that we're looking at all the purple developing. we're talking 30, 40 mile an hour gusts developing across this area. and so very gusty in those areas we head toward tomorrow and especially on friday. temperature wise numbers are still very, very mild to warm outside. how about 77 degrees right now in concord? 75 in vallejo. 74 right now in the napa valley. 81. >> for friends or brentwood. so some very nice weather around the bay area right now. tomorrow. well, don't some cooler temperatures back to san francisco. so those 70's are back into the 60's. and those numbers little cooler along the coastline. but you're going to see still some 80's in spots inland by tomorrow afternoon over the next couple days. maybe those temperatures back off just a little bit. the fire danger will be running high. that high pressure builds in over the weekend. looks like we're getting temperatures near 90's, but will probably waiting to monday or tuesday.

daytime highs throughout the rest of our local areas, napa getting up to 78 degrees. 75 down in san joseng about the onshore flow. they'll continue to push in from the west as we head into the afternoon hours, anywhere from 20 to 30 miles per hour just around 2:00. it stays consistent as we head into the evening though so keep that in mind. that's the big reason why solano county is under a red flag warning starting at 11:00 a.m. extending throughout this afternoon and ending tomorrow at 8:00 p.m. it's a big reason why i wanted to highlight the winds. we're warming up as we head into the next couple days. the huge ridge will start weakening as we head into monday, tuesday, even wednesday but pushes its way into our coastline giving us above-average temperatures for the next couple days. behind that is an area of low pressure, you could see that right there. hooer is another depiction of that. you could see it spiraling right now, that will continue to develop as we head into the late portions of our week, bringing us cooler temperatures to wrap up this work week. here is that in full for
