we're talking 68 inches here in napa valley. all of that snow accumulating overnight and it just hasn't stopped off throughout the morning. you can see how much of that it's just on the roadway here. but this snow, it isn't light and fluffy and powdery. no, it's dense. it's thick and it's heavy, and it's weighing heavy on trees that are coming down power lines that are coming down more trees in the distance. all of that. falling onto roadways here in napa county, so anyone who has been traveling up and down say places like angwin down over closer to the peninsula have had to face major headaches. chaos lots of snow. a lot of trees down trees and power lines. you don't need the pope valley fire chief to tell you the mountain roads and napa valley or hard to navigate, and then suddenly we woke up early in the morning, and there was snow covering our entire ranch. snow covered pretty much everything on this mountain heading up to angwin people looking to sightsee there. i was just going to go and wander around and look at the snow

the napa valley. if you head out the door this evening, that air is very dry. so those temperatures are going to fall in a hurry. so it's going to get cold out there. if you're stepping outside for the night. looking outside, though, a beautiful conditions out there toward the golden gate bridge on this friday evening. a little busy out there on the bridge tonight. couple high clouds up above on that. yeah, not bad at all. start to see a change in the pattern. now as high pressure really going to take over for the weekend. you see some of those high clouds up a bit of a little bit of a northwesterly wind out there right along the coastline. now that area of low pressure that's been spinning up some clouds that is beginning to sag southward. that is going to take those clouds with that leave behind whole lot of sunshine. if you've got plans for the weekend. so high pressure going to be building in the next couple of days. that is going to bring in the sunshine outside some mild as warm temperatures all around the bay area would be surprised is a of couple places

we are seeing rainfall across napa valley, but you don't have to head up to high before you start seeing that transitioning into snowfall. a little bit of good news on 1, is it's calm down right there. it was rough this morning as we saw some heavy rain, some hail and some coming down that actually piled up on the roads, made some things really slick out there for marine and sonoma counties. up further north, you are running into a lot of snowfall. cloverdale reports of cars being stuck on roadways, their trees down as you transition up in the mendocino county along 101. so definitely a whole lot going on this morning. as for the core of the bay area, we're mostly looking at widespread rainfall out there. it's moderate to heavy showers and san francisco down through fremont and milpitas and san jose. and as you get down towards morgan hill, some pretty heavy rain as well along highway 101 there. we do have reports of some accidents on highway 17. that rina will keep you updated on. it's been a rain-snow mix up there, but snowfall accumulating overnight, just a whole lot going on across t

you can see those cold temperatures kind of cool inside some of those valleys all the way up the napa valley back toward healdsburg and santa rosa in petaluma. those cold temperatures likely again in the low 30's and d en frost advisories in the areas shaded in blue around much of the rest, the bay area. so cold start to the day tomorrow. temperature wise, this how it's going to break down 30 degrees for an overnight low in santa rosa about 34 napa and the bottle. 32 and freezing in concord and livermore. you'll find the same in pleasanton dublin, in danville, inside the bay. maybe not quite as cold. still a chilly morning. you probably see some patchy frost numbers down to the 30's in and around the bay. while along the coastline will keep those temperatures generally in the 30's and the 40's. there's a storm system off the coastline, though. but looks like it's going to get close kind of a swing and a miss. but there's a much more aggressive system headed our way. we'll talk more about that coming up in a few minutes. thank your also coming up, a tanker truck crash puts out clouds of orang

thank you so much from napa valley into the sonoma valley.night, is now impacting some roads in sonoma county. this was the scene earlier this morning on how we wanna one in cloverdale, just north of geyserville. heavy snow, causing delays on the freeway chp also shutting down highway 1 28 at cloverdale boulevard due to hazardous conditions. several trees and power lines are also down in that area. people live in the oakland hills are waking up to snow on the ground this morning. this is what our photographer found up on grizzly peak, big heavy snowflakes falling around 5 30 so much snow would actually accumulated on the road and they're on the grassy hills. snow continues to fall, the santa cruz mountains as well this morning. this video shows what's happening there. now highway 17 is closed because of all that heavy snow. there is a lot of snow on the road, and just one lane of 17 appears to be clear enough for drivers. trees have also fallen and will need to be removed before the highway can reopen. ktvu jesse gary in the south bay will ha
