o'hare, the biggest rain in 30 days around here and look at the wind gusts, that roared through napervillel, indiana, and our weather bug network from burlington, wisconsin to the school in chicago and henzdale, other reports from western springs, sugar grove, west chester, we had funnel clouds and tornadoes mainly in our northwest suburbs but winds and reports of funnels in a couple of other areas as well, and you can see the temperatures tonight on the way down with readings as low as 36. these are all far west and west suburban temperatures, just to show you how far we've come from today's high around 70 earlier and note the wind gusts propelling the cool air in. here are the storms as they moved into sock village today on our weather bug cameras. aurora had gusty storms going through and they turned the late afternoon skies to night as they came through the area and the storm that came through caladonnia is said to have snapped a half dozen of these high -- you know these towers that support the high power lines so there have been massive power outages. this is decatur, illinois, and l

dekalb made it up to 61 today. 47 naperville. here in the city we topped out at 54. from northfield of the clouds that broke about midday gives us a nice sunny spell. look at the rains in pensacola. it's capturing the moisture that might move north into our area. they had 6 inches there. hollywood and miami had over an inch of rain. and that's with this system down there trapping the moisture. here's the wave that went through here. this was a front. and it's one of these fronts that has the real cold air lingering about 12 hours behind it. while the showers that went through here are these, look what was happening up the lake. we're getting towering clouds, a sign of cool air moving over the warm lake waters and there's a steep vertical temperature drop. so this thing towers to 29,000 feet. that's a respectable shower. we've got some models suggesting in the parts of the indiana and southwest lower michigan lake effect belt, a half an inch of rain may come down and might mix with ice pellets. when you take the bursts of lake rain that come into that area and add the
