you can see it's rather business in naples fort meyers. thth rain is headed towards our area probably by your morng commute. we'll e. this is our in house computer forecast model for rainfall. we're talking generally two to four inches. we had one computer forecast model run earlier that was showing five inches and above. it's backed off just a little bit. generally speaking the heaviest rain would be for broward, perhaps nothing not quite as heavy for miami dade and the florida keys. broward you're the target for the h%aviest rains where more than likely you'll see two inches up to four inches of accumulation between wednesday and thursday. strong cold front again on the way tomorrow and thursday and cooler air will follow for this upcoming weekend. our temperatures tonight continue to warm up. they are about five degrees warmer than last night at this hour. you can see on the weather map we have the front and low pressure area off to/our west. the front or low leaving new orleans. it's accompanied by an upper that tends to add energy and

now--the national weather service is trying to determine if the naples area was also hit. in manatee county... 2 people lost their lives... and four children were injured after a mobile home was tossed by an e-f-2 tornado. 58-year-old steve wilson and his wife 51-year-old kate wilson were killed. their son-- was able to crawl from the debris -- gather his four children and get to a safe location. they are all hospital it's the first death from a tornado in florida since 2012. further east folks in martin county also saw tornadoes. boats were damaged, trees were toppled and a semi was overturned on i-95! it was a much different story in central florida.. here we felt the wind and the rain.. hours after the damage was done along florida's gulf coast. power was knocked out for several hundred customers-- in areas like merritt island and lake mary. rnjeing -- gunmen burst into a home... and terrorize a mother and her teenage children inside! it happened just after midnight at a home on harwood street. that's just south of colornial drive, near the orange county sheriff's offic

this has had a history of producing wind gusts near 80 miles per hour into the naples area. there are no warnings in effect in the two county areas but our tornado watch is extended until 9 a.m. for that continued threat. if we can just track the radar here, we want to look at live first alert doppler, as we that's our forecast, which will sw a lot of improvements rapidly here. back on the radar we're watching at least the two county area, the line of storms moving in. as we get through the morning hours again, a kwk hit fromquick hit from broward county. we're going to see the showers and thunderstorms quickly move in across broward county initially. so whe is the threat? the threat exists on the line itself that we can see brief spin-ups here. it will be very quick hitters. it's a tough call on a line like this. it's very challenging. the bottom loon, prepare yourselves for very heavy rains and wind gusts as we watch this line approach, we're already seeing some of this action move in across weston and we're going to see the wind gusts continue with this line. notice how i

last saturday that set up in naples was the key to this. there will be severe weather on friday but where the small area sets up his when you're talking about the entire west coast of florida, you get it. most of the area doesn't see severe weather. it won't be an issue tomorrow morning, with some breaks in the cloud cover later on. then we get a warm front rolling through tomorrow night. temperatures will rise tomorrow night as we destabilize and set the atmosphere of for severe weather. this particular run brings this through between 8:00 at 10:00 it might be as early as 4:00 or 5:00 or as late as 9:00 or 10:00. the exact location of where the severe weather and tornado watch will likely have a better idea tomorrow afternoon to evening. by lunchtime, it is gone. whatever you have planned friday morning, keep your eye on the sky and facebook. we will let you know where things are setting up. i am confident there will be a severe thunderstorm and maybe even a tornado across part of the west coast of florida. but it is too early to say if th

it still includes fort myers down into naples and out towards potch beach county, st. lucie as well. this watch is actually in effect until 5:00 p.m. eastern time. but now there's also this orange box, that's a severe thunderstorms watchbox. now, again this is still out of our viewing area, but it's something we have to watch, because the way these storms are heading, they're heading south, so severe thunderstorms warning actually, it turned into a warning, this includes naples, marco island, so much of the south west coast of florida under this severe threat through the late morning, early afternoon hours. eventually we will see the threat diminish for them as the storms and et. now for us here in south florida we're getting the rain as you c see all across south florida from off the waters over southwest gulf of mexico up into our atlananc coast as well. so zooming in we're heading down south first. you can see key west getting a little bit of rainfall, but you will get some heavy downpours from this one developing storm and it's starting to develop as we speak. now,
