you've been looking at flooding out there after typhoon nari came onshore back on monday. still some pretty serious conditions. over toward the americas, one system is moving off to the northeast, another one coming in from the west. this one is actually bringing snowfall in toward the rockies, and the northern plains and western portions of the great lakes. that's going to push through, work its way toward the east. behind it, cold air is ushering in from the north. we'll see temperatures drop down with snow flurries in a few areas. frost advisories as well. and also, it does look like the highs will be dropping going into friday and saturday. chicago, 14. in the single digits, denver just a high of 11. look at miami, partly cloudy skies, 31 on your thursday. over towards europe, we have one storm system down to the balkans. that will bring in rough weather in romania. still could see gusts around this area up to 90 kilometers per hour. up north, we do have another system as well. that's moving through the scandinavian peninsula into the baltic states and western russia.

nari has weakened to a tropical storm. it brings staggering amount of rainfall pounding the central regions. it will be lots of rain to the region across thailand where the previous system has been lingering over bringing moisture and dumping in heavy rain. land is well saturated. additional rainfall could give the cause to further landslides and mudslides. >>> we have another tropical depression formed over the water. this is likely to become a tropical storm by friday night. high pressure covers mump of the korean peninsula and china making things pretty cold in the morning hours across some of the cities in northeast china. marked minus 15 degrees. the high is in the seasonal range. beijing 20 degrees plenty of sunshine. tropics, 30s. tokyo 34 today, stormy day across the area. that cold air in the northeast and china will be brought to northern japan. mount fuji is covered with the white stuff. now across to the americas. still looking at this very active low pressure system moving across the region. it is sagging this

exceptional damage is what we have been seeing from the typhoon nari. we got flooding exceptional rainfall amounts strong winds. now this storm moved in, on land, north of manila. so manila was somewhat saved from excessive flooding like we're seeing here. but now the storm since it's crossed the philippines is moving back out to warmer waters and it's going to intensify and get stronger and it has the potential of being equivalent to a category 2 hurricane. now this particular storm is heading direct on a westward track which puts it towards danang as we get towards tuesday and wednesday, more rain for vietnam. and vietnam just had a huge storm just this last week. so we've got problems with flooding here. again some problems with mudslides and we're going to see that continue off and on, track towards thailand as that storm heads towards vietnam. what we have here in the continent are disornls in the pacific northwest. all the way down towards louisiana texas and getting some of this rain also in parts of mississippi. this is intense rain with cool fr

>> typhoon nari is starting to affect the northern half of the philippines. month we've had typhoon fito, typhoon dennis, this one is the third all right tropics are really firing up. the center is expected to move across luzon. it could make landfall in eastern part of luzon by saturday morning local time and then head out to sea. it could probably aim for vietnam or hainan early next week. now, as we go into saturday, the most heavy rain should be confined to the eastern part of luzon and from sunday, the western part could be battered by extremely heavy rain and rain could linger for several days across the western parts. not just rain but also we're seeing some quite strong winds. about 200 kilometers per hour gusts are likely to hit luzon. now, not just the storm, we have another heavy rainmaker back behind it. this is a tropical storm at this moment. right now a minimal tropical storm but it could intensify to a strong typhoon. and then move up towards the north. we'll keep you posted on the storm's progress. now across the bay of bengal, we have anothe

i first want to talk about now tropical depression nari moving over vietnam toward laos and into eastern portions of thailand. this has already been bringing heavy rainfall. it's still going to be, but the good news is that we have seen these winds weaken down strong enough to, it is no longer a tropical system, and really no more track is going to be expected from this as it moves off to the west. still pretty heavy precipitation coming out of it. also looking at the risk of flooding toward portions of the philippines. we're still watching heavy rainfall here. it's not so much the heavy rain i'm worried about over here, it's these afternoon thunderstorms combined with aftershocks following the earthquake earlier on this morning. the problem is, you get heavy rainfall that sat rates the ground. you get that to shake and it increases that risk of landslides out here. something to continue to watch through the coming days. the afternoon thunderstorms are something you continue to deal with there, day in and day out, across the philippines. now, behind wipha, as that rolls off to the northe

it's now a tropical storm, the name is nari, meaning lily in korean.oks like it's going to intensify to a severe tropical storm and then move over luzon over the weekend. now, we're expecting very stormy conditions across manila on your saturday. heavy rain of over 200 millimeters likely across the west coast of the philippines for the next three daze or so. flooding, landslides, mud slooid slides are going to be a high risk for the time being. another system to watch is over the bay of bengal. this one is now a cyclonic storm. if you remember, it has been lingering as a low pressure system for days, bringing lots of rain for the west coes of the indochina peninsula. again, it's now strengthened to a cyclonic storm and will likely move north and northwest, probably hit odisha by the weekend as a very severe cyclonic storm. so we have to monitor this system as well. temperatures are going to be in the 30s in hong kong as well as taipei. but towards the north, very chilly in ulan bator. 6 degrees for the high. in beijing, 21 degrees. cloudy but windy con

these areas across the tropics, well, it looks like one of these have been named now, tropical storm nari. this one tracking off towards the west is forecasted to become a severe tropical storm before making landfall, well east of manila. you could be seeing pretty heavy rainfall and not to mention, there's still the risk of typhoon-strength wind gusts and high waves, really, i think the main threat is going to be the heavy rainfall. serious risk of flooding and landslides. we also have our deep depression bringing heavy rain, winds gusting up to 70 kilometers per hour. this will track off to the northwest and the possibility of becoming a severe sigh clcyclon threat. all of tropics still very active. temperatures look like this. 30 there in manila. shanghai at 27. let's take a look towards the americas, a low pressure area bringing some rain showers. moving off quickly to the east. clear skies in the central portions of the country and canada. if you have travel plans it looks fairly decent in and out of los angeles, though, some rain showers in your forecast. the mountains a little fart

we have problems with typhoon nari bringing in heavy rain in indochi indochina. flooding spread into thailand. it stays very disturbed here over the next few days. the area is making its way further northward as we go on through the course of thursday. there's further flooding into laos and expect the heavy showers into a good part of that other side of indochina into the western side of indochina. it remains just about vietnam. you can see further heavy downpours over the next few days. that wet weather is coming all the way further south. a rash of showers into the philippines. offshore we still have a another typhoon brews and it will make its way towards japan for the middle part of next week. we keep it in process for the system. you see a rash of showers into southeast asia. borneo seeing big downpours and heavy showers there across the peninsula. more heavy showers coming in over the next couple of days with a risk of further flooding here, too. >> thank you very much indeed. >>> coming up, russian police arrest a migrant in connection with a man's murder

a storm warning was issued last night in an effort to prevent damage by typhoon nari. local authorities have been urging locals to prepare for the tides. heavy rains hit the area, with winds up to 85 miles- per-hour. the typhoon is categorized as an orange-level, which is the second-highest warning in china's weather warning system. parts of central texas are recovering this morning from heavy rain and flash flooding. areas near downtown austin received more than 10 inches of rain over a 12 hour period. >> there was at least 4 in. of rainfall in the front of the restaurant and the back of the restaurant. >> ofsome roads had to be closed down because they were just too dangerous to drive on or impassable due to high water or damage. one man who works at a restaurant in austin says the storm was overwhelming. here's a look inside that restaurant. the rains were so heavy and flooding so severe. officials canceled the last day of the austin city limits music festival. also, the latest on the part strikes.the bart-strikes still,o deal has been reached. >> 39 degrees, even 4
