i was president of nashua for the famous reagan-bush debate in 1980. i campaigned with bush 41 in the 1992, and actually man to the microphone on primary night for him. and i enjoyed traveling the state with governor drudge greg, a close colleague and friend, when he campaigned successfully for the senate here. but it's not so much my fond memories of new hampshire that bring me here today. i'm here actually because i think our country is in grave peril, and i cannot sit any longer, quietly on the sidelines. we have a president who openly praises and encourages despotic and authoritarian leaders abroad while going out of his way, seemingly, to insult and even humiliate our democratic allies. the question presents itself, white? we -- why? we have a president who sets out nuclear arms agreements with other nuclear powers. why? he has lightly tossed around threats using nuclear weapons against north korea. why? he has railed against the very idea of the rule of law, the cornerstone of all of our individual freedoms. why? he's virtually spat upon the idea

[applause] my question, because i'm on the board of education in nashua, and these guys know what's happening there. do you have the temperament to go against you know who now? ms. klobuchar: yes, well, i do. i think you have to be tough enough. we'll start with that. but you also have to be strategic about this because, not giving away a secret to the media here, i think too many times, it's not just about 2016, you just follow him down every single rabbit hole. and pretty soon he is controlling the complete agenda. what i actually announced, he did a tweet. just like you guys know when the snow starts coming, it creates the sense of imminent disaster. so it got a lot of attention and so he did a tweet afterward and gave me my nickname which isn't nearly as bad. snowwoman. he first said snowman woman. that's his first acknowledgment of transgender rights. but snowwoman. then i actually came up with a funny way to respond. but i thought, this was my announcement. buddy, i know what you're doing here. so i waited a few hours because i knew the 6:00 news was going to be on, so after that i said

[laughter] mayor bloomberg: later on, here in october and in nashua, talking to a group moms demand action. they support commonsense gun laws and have been impactful and -- they have been impactful. when a group of moms start screaming at you, every elected official pays attention. they have been helpful in electing candidates who want commonsense gun laws which is background checks. no one is trying to take away anyone's guns but we shouldn't be selling guns to people who have criminal backgrounds and that's what they advocate. they are very effective and it is great to be with them and it is great to know they have a healthy chapter here in new hampshire. i also have the pleasure of working with your mayor, joyce craig. i have gotten to know her because she participated in our program that created with harvard university and the idea is pretty simple. the private sector spends billions of dollars on leadership development for executives every year, but mayors just don't have access to that kind of support. so we created an organization joining with harvard university and we invited some
